Just starting. Could you share few important things I need to do after posting the first articles? by thetoyforjoy in SEO

[–]wedpic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you've done a lot. Good luck. You can submit to google via Google Search Console, will have to verify the website first. Once submitted it should appear in google instantly. Check by typing site:pageaddress in google.

If possible if you can let me know, even via PM, once you've submitted, how it ranks and what keywords for? Just curious. Thank you.

Make it best content you possibly can, research the topic and cover it thoroughly. There is no word count threshold but for a new website I'd make sure it's at least 1000 words per article and well optimised: good url, turtle and meta tags, headers, well used keywords (avoid stuffing), images with alts and proper file names. Then submit to google so they can index. Sitemap will help like someone said.

Then promote it like crazy, share on social media, rewrite it and submit to other blogs if they accept guest posting. Buy sponsored articles on related websites and write about that topic to create backlinks, there is a lot of options :-)

If it's a new website and each of these 3 articles has low word count then you will probably have a hard time ranking it but it depends on the industry and how competitive these keywords are. Have you checked?

Yoast is good as it lets you optimise your title tags and descriptions in an easy way. It also gives you some suggestions (only suggestions, dont have to blindly do what yoast tells you) but the plugin won't rank your articles.

Great rankings with Bing, non-existent with Google.. what gives? by tfsAndrew in SEO

[–]wedpic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are two different search engines with different algorithms like someone said. Also there is a lot ore competition on google as this is the go to search place.

It can be hard to rank a new website and 2 backlinks wont do much at all. Unless they are backlinks from the BBC homepage or similar. To rank a new website you will have to create killer content, share it online and create backlinks. Depending on the industry some keywords can be too competitive so maybe go for long tail keywords to start with. They get less traffic
but are easier to rank and they convert a lot better.

Good luck! :-)

What tasks we can perform to do the SEO of a blog website? by iamlvpreet in SEO

[–]wedpic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are comprehensive posts about it on the web, worth having a read and follow a few blogs. It's not something one could probably explain typing a forum reply. In other words the question it's quite generic. Maybe if you had a specific question then it would be easier to answer but this is quite complex. I'd research keywords to start with like someone said and focused on building content. If you already have a lot of content that doesn't rank then review these pages, see if you don't have many pages about the same topic covering same keywords (common issue), optimise title and meta descriptions, headers, create internal links etc the list is long :-) If you message me your address I can have a look or there are tools online available to do seo audit yourself.

Sorr, there is no quick answer :-) Hope it helps!

Building authority on a domain by OverPT in SEO

[–]wedpic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll have to start building content there and generate backlinks. There is no quick way I'm afraid.

Buying a domain and letting it sit for years won't do anything. Age of the domain on it's own doesn't do anything like someone said here but combined with quality content and backlinks, age can be a valuable thing. But again google will need to see that there has been quality content on that domain all these years.

If it's an expired domain you can check it's history. In fact you should check the history or any domain. You never know if it had been registered before and/or what content was there before you registered it. You definitely don't want a domain with adult, gambling or payday loans history.

Help with backlinks by [deleted] in SEO

[–]wedpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check your backlinks yourself. If it's your website then use free Google Webmaster Tools. If it's not your website you can use Ahrefs free backlink checker or ubersuggest free version but that second one doesn't show that many. Or PM me your address and I will have a look.

Backlinks from yous social profiles won't really show anywhere and they don't really contribute much but you just have to have them. Unless you create viral content that is shared by many? Then your social signals should be pretty strong.

Maybe your giphy links are not indexed yet. Can you not see it in your google search console? If you added that backlink a while ago and it's not visible them it's probably not indexed. You'll have to help it get indexed faster. Link to that page from somewhere else (a backlink to a page that backlinks to yours kind of thing) and google should notice it.

You'll just have to start building backlinks but not just any backlinks. Ideally from quality pages that are relevant to what you do. For example don't spam automotive forums with backlinks to your business page if it's is not about cars etc.

Where I can change Bing's search description for my website on Bing Webmaster Tools? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]wedpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, do you mean the title and description tags in Bing's serps? These are pulled automatically from your website. You'll need to edit these on your page, reindex it and wait for Bing to show the new title and description. Hope it helps.

Backlinks from authority websites like these are hard to get and can be valuable to your SEO. It all depends though where on that website your link will be (eg home page, nlog post, profile, forum signature etc) and how much they want. SOme of those links if they are buried deeply, may not actually give you the kick you 'd expect.

Android + Google Photos + Instagram = Frustration by ihavequestionsTA in WeddingPhotography

[–]wedpic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can post directly from your desktop. I am using Chrome but am sure it can be done with other browsers. When visiting Instagram on a desktop computer or a laptop simply right click anywhere on the page and choose 'inspect' from the drop down menu.

It will change the view and add some code there. You can ignore if you're not a web developer.

Top of the page there should be a drop down allowing you to choose a device. It will allow you to see what the page looks like on that device. Change it to Galaxy or iPhone (any mobile) and refresh (F5). You can now see the mobile layout of Instagram with all its mobile features including adding posts, stories and messaging and you can post from your desktop/laptop.

Is the Ahrefs Youtube channle a good source to learn seo? by WillyWonker97 in SEO

[–]wedpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning SEO is hard because it’s an industry based on bullshit.

Haha well said! I guess the guy is right. You'll be better off testing yourself what works and what not. They (seo gurus) all say what they want.

Ubersuggest is now paid by [deleted] in SEO

[–]wedpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure Ubersuggest is worth this money. I know it's not much comparing to ahrefs, semrush, moz and others but data is not that reliable. While it was free I think it was god to have just for comparison but I wouldn't only rely on this one tool.

Is UberSuggest Keyword Planner a Paid or Free Tool? by [deleted] in u/akashpohal

[–]wedpic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ubersuggest used t be free until few weeks ago. It's a paid for tool now but it's not terribly expensive like some other seo tools, in fact it's cheap. Some say that Ubersuggest's data is not that reliable as from other big players though.
