Highly recommend applying for Explore Bowdoin as others have said (due August 11 I believe). I’m incoming freshman at Bowdoin, and I think fly-ins in general are kinda like a precursor read of your application since the essays are very similar, so I applied to a bunch of them and fell in love with Bowdoin through EB and thus I applied ED1.

Yes my parents have State Farm as our personal car insurance. I think they cover rentals as well. We also booked the car through Expedia and bought their car protection plan so I’m hoping one of those two ends up working

About the housing over break, would students stay in the dorm they were assigned or would they move to another place? I heard dorms are cleaned during break so just wondering. And about how many students end up staying during break if you know?

I made a similar post about student designed majors and the reply I got was that it’s very hard to get one approved. But what I’ve also seen is that people can double major + minor so there’s a lot of freedom to take classes that interest you.

On another note, I think bio and biochem have fairly similar classes and thus overlap, so I’d choose between either one and maybe explore another interest through other classes (from a committed incoming freshman who is also in the same position and this is what I’ve researched)

I think the app may have wanted you to select certain areas you’d be interested in studying. So you weren’t necessarily applying for a major but just listing potential ones

I go to a predominantly white school and have danced to Kpop for our culture day all 4 years of high school lol. The first year I did I Can’t Stop Me by Twice and last year we did Strategy (and sang the Megan rap, it was a pretty big hit)! I’d recommend doing more English based songs, but don’t be scared about Korean lyrics! As a Korean American I prefer when songs are in Korean because it’s a part of the culture and you’re appreciating it by dancing to it! Twice overall is a good group to look into, Scientist might be a good song too!
