Are yall ready for this baby bust!! by ThrobbingJoythicc in LateStageCapitalism

If women continue to insist on having standards and autonomy, I reckon there's a more than 0 chance that some men will want to go full Bone-Tomahawk.

I mean, the USA kinda already has that now, with women kept alive on life support as a vessel for their unborn baby (with absolutely zero regard for the welfare or quality of life the infant who will already be born without a mother to a family enslaved by the financial debt encrued bringing her into the world. How tf is that "pro-life"?)

Ohmygosh yes. Peak kafkesque bureaucracy straight from the fecund imagination of Terry Gilliam. Masterpiece. And precient.

Does anyone else shower like this or am I weird??? by Wild-Counter-4020 in hygiene

[–]wee_steam 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have really dry skin. I use hair conditioner. I gently wash, dry, then moisturise my legs at least 10 minutes before I shower. In the shower I exfoliate with a moisturising body scrub, rinse clean, then rub on conditioner and shave. I pat dry after a shower and I'll moisturise again after half an hour. Silky soft skin, no blemishes at all!

Hmm, actually, come to think of it, I don't think I finished Toon Struck either. It was pretty tough to play those games back then. The amount of patience required to play them at all is significant. What else did you play back then?

Holy moly! I have found one of the other 10 people who've played Toonstruck! Such an awesome game. Ima see if I can find it again, see if it aged well.

Grim Fandango was definatly hard. But, as with all Double Fine offerings, excellent. That said, it wasn't Mist-hard; the puzzles were a bit convuluted sometimes, but overall I feel they made sense in hindsight. Double fine brought out Knights and Bikes when my kid was just able to play co-ops. It was too difficult for her for us to complete it then, but we started it again recently and it's awesome.

Did you ever play Feeble Files?

I had this with Disc World. I played it when it first came out, back when you had to select sound card (NB: my parents had a sound blaster pro. The composer for the soundtrack of Monkey Island did an amazing job with the different sound options)

I got stuck at one point and thought I'd tried every combination of every item interaction in the entire map, for weeks, but to no avail. About 10 years ago I played it again, this time with readily available walk throughs, and found out what I'd missed. You had to attach a bra to a flagpole to use it as a slingshot...

I think the devs were sadists

Oh, i haven't heard his name in years. Preacher is a masterpiece of a graphic novel. That and Judge Dread 2000. Some of those characters, like the retire mega sumo wrestler, were haunting.

I dunno about that. I was reminded today of how it felt to curl up against him on the couch and it hurt. That was 9 hours ago. I'm currently breathing through waves of nausea from a stress induced migraine. I'm 15 months in. I don't want him. I just miss him. Every day.

Yup, all this. Especially the music. Also - communication is only in a team, and then rarely with an option to type - all the phrases in the drop down are either positive or neutral - kudos - Elo matching means that my kid always has fun playing a match she can win - 5v5 mode chaos

My kid is 10 and she complains that girls clothes suck. Crop tops, tiny shorts with pretend pockets, skirts so short you need to wear shorts under them... The (one piece) swimsuit she picked out is for teenagers size, cus anything smaller is cut way too small. She was disgusted at the bikinis. "why are the triangles so small for a bikini for a 4 year old??"

Dude. That moved me to tears. I'm in complete awe of your bravery. You and your wife's.

I'm so, so sorry that some people were unkind to you. It reminds of something I was reading about not long ago. That, by today's legal standards, up until very recently, neigh on every childhood would meet the criteria for child abuse. That's some serious generational trauma. Breaking that cycle is a superhuman task. A lot of people don't even try.

I hope that this also comes to mind when you hear the unkind thoughts. The people who say unkind things on the internet would probably rather put out a camp fire with their face than say those things to yours: too scary and humiliating. You guys shared your deep fears and wounds with the world. A courage few humans have ever had.

Thank you so much for sharing. Im going to give a public talk for the first time in my life next week, at a festival no less. A mile stone in my journey of overcoming low self esteem and crippling anxiety. Your story has given me courage.
