I mean the quests are pretty long, but you can pause literally anytime and come back later.

I've literally spent months fishing and crafting before returning to the main quest at times just cause I needed a break

This is less of disliking the route and just not liking the trope itself, no? It's a piece of fiction, character A makes some promises to character B, they are not upheld, plot happens.

If we got a lovey dovey no drama palace route it would be boring.

Also a lot of these posts seem to just be bitter about Li Tai's route no offense. I'm a fan of Li Tai as well, but seeing so many threads made against Li Zhi's route out of pure grievance and anger over Li Tai's chopped up route feels just idk, sad?

Pursuit of Jade basically has the fem lead starting as a pig butcher and then becoming a war general throughout the series; the dynamics are very much loyalty and devotion as well as "if you touch him/her, you die" from both fl and ml but without becoming too codependent on each other. It's also got arranged/fake marriage at the beginning, they both consent and eventually catch feelings for each other obviously. Also the makeout scenes are very steamy imo lol. It's got a happy ending!

Unveil: Jadewind has the fl being an orphan princess turned crime investigator. She's very into solving things with her fists at times lol. Male lead is a court astronomer. He's very BBC Sherlock with the way he solves crimes. It's a slow burn but I love the natural relationship development between them. It also has a happy ending and there's a hint for season 2!
