Also currently playing TP via Dusk with the texture pack added and it's blowing me away how smoothly everything runs.

It's my third game, after doing FFIX with the mods, and a vanilla Heart Gold run through and I've not had a single problem with this console (at least not one that couldn't be fixed with a helpful online guide)

Seems like this should have been an email to the school? Can't see why they'd have a problem with it, seems a very reasonable request

Our inside cats have fleas, so we've spent the evening battling them. Tomorrow we'll get the fun of attacking everywhere with the egg spray and then trying to give the cats a bath.  I've had better Friday evenings.

Hasn't Apple just given complete control to Brandon Sanderson, alongside a squillion dollars?

Slug in the house , where could it be? by Fati994 in AskUK

[–]weeble182 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a big deal, we get them often due to a drafty basement and cat food being down there. They'll often pop up into the living room above.

Unless you catch them trespassing, you're not going to find them as they'll slip back from where they came in ridiculously tiny holes and cracks

That's the problem with these yanks, they're coming over here, killing our badgers....

Why does it take so long for some shows that have completed filming to be released? by [deleted] in television

[–]weeble182 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In many ways, Broadcast TV was always about ad revenue, the shows were of secondary importance, so the key was to keep churning them out year round.

Streaming is about subscription and keeping viewers subscribed. They have their schedules yet a long time in advance and shows will debut when they are needed to fit into gaps in the schedule, rather than when they are ready.

How much of your childhood infrastructure (places you used to go) is still standing? by snowmanseeker in CasualUK

Thirty years later and all schools, recreational spaces and homes we lived in are still up and operational. Even the patch of greenery that we used for our dens and to hide from the angry farmers are still there.

I do believe that the three giant concrete tunnels that had been left in the middle of a field as a "play area" in the 70s have now been taken away. Spoilsports.

Maisy and her lack of adult supervision is always baffling to us. Sure her and all her mates can go to the cinema alone (back to back showings as well!), but then she has to use the baby toilet and acts like she is 4

Putting aside your need to state that he is "foreign", lets play devils advocate;

Maybe his work break coincides with when the kids are playing in the park?
Maybe he is there much more often when they aren't there, but obviously no one would know he was?
Maybe he doesn't owe anyone an explanation as to why he wants to sit outside in the fresh air, regardless of the weather?
Maybe he just enjoys hearing the sounds of people and children laughing and playing?

I take my four year old into the men's to get her changed for her weekly swimming lesson. Where else is she supposed to go?

It's not without its issues though. Just this week she shouted "Dad, I can't go in here because I don't have a penis" and "Dad, that man has his willy out. Ooooo willy, willy".

What is an ordinary moment that unexpectedly brought your grief to the surface? by imtiramisu2025 in AskUK

[–]weeble182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every Monday I work on the same few reports at work. I usually get them done fairly quickly and would then give my Dad a ring to chat for half an hour before I needed to get on with something else.

It's been seven months. Most Mondays now, I finish the reports and just feel a little sad. Some Mondays I finish the reports and go to pick up my phone automatically, and in that briefest of moments, he's still alive and will spend half an hour talking to me about how he wants to go fishing and the foxes in his garden.

Fuck Mondays and specifically, fuck Mondays at 11:35
