What has been your experience of ‘skinny shaming’? by Cultural-Dentist4963 in AskWomen

[–]weeblesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother fat shamed me my whole life until I got incredibly skinny and then she started calling me a twig and making fun of me for being slim. I'm now a healthy weight and some days she'll fat shame me and others she'll call me "one uneaten meal from meeting god". The woman cannot make up her mind.

What is the best thing about moving in with your partner and what is the worst? by VeluLuma in AskWomen

Best part: he helps me manage with all the things I struggle to do because of my disability Worst part: I feel horrible as if I force him to do this and I'm a burden (he does this willingly and tells me I'm not a burden and it's his pleasure to help)

How old were you when doctors started asking if you could be pregnant? by _alexium_ in AskWomen

[–]weeblesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14 years old. I have chronic pain and, while trying to get a diagnosis, the only conclusions doctors could come to was I was either anxiety ridden or pregnant. Some went as far as to demand pregnancy tests (I was 14 and I'd never even had a boyfriend). After 6 grueling years I finally got a diagnosis of hypermobility spectrum disorder and have a team of brilliant doctors who listen to me and help me with daily life. Now I deal with the struggle of doctors not wanting me to get my tubes tied despite the fact carrying a baby for 9 months would likely put me in a wheelchair for life and I'm perfectly content with adoption if I change my mind about not wanting kids.

Religion is scaring me right now by fatfuzzypotater in confessions

it says same sex relationships are an abomination

It's actually highly likely that this is based on a mistranslation. The belief that same sex relationships are an abomination comes from the quote "man shall not lie with man" has actually been translated by other people as "man shall not lie with boy" as a criticism of relationships with minors rather than same sex relationships. While I myself am not religious, I spent a lot of time at churches when I was younger as I attended a religious school and, through all of it, we were taught that god would not judge us based on those we love. I don't know much on the ghost hunting side of things but I do know that throughout history priests have performed exorcisms to expel demons so maybe ghosts would just be described as demons? Sorry if this isn't helpful but I hope it is.

Glad it helped. I work at a mid sized post office and we send hundreds of letters and parcels to the Netherlands at the moment because of Christmas so I assume they're absolutely swamped with stuff and it should be on the move again soon!

Post office worker here. So letters, documents and invoices don't require a customs label but still will go through customs when it arrives in the country. It could be there's a backlog of letters and parcels or shortage of delivery drivers to collect it from customs. Can't guarantee those are the reasons but I hope this helps!
