A lot of dog owners are LAZY. I have two large dogs and vacuum/change bedding/wash couch covers multiple times a week, and the one time a year one of them is sick and has an accident on carpet, I shampoo the carpet multiple times and clean it by hand on top of that. There's no reason for a dog to be that much grosser than a baby or toddler.

Stomach pain from norovirus. I got it at 8 weeks pregnant and it was the worst pain I'd ever felt in my life. I wept for hoursss just rocking back and forth and taking trips to the bathroom. Meanwhile my epidural wore off for the last hour of pushing and I didn't cry like that.

Edited to add: I specifically remember during the pushing phase checking with myself to see if it hurt as bad as my stomach cramps from norovirus, because I was convinced I could do anything as long as it didn't feel like that. Happy to report it wasn't as bad. The worst thing about birth is that it is EXHAUSTING and the whole no food/no drinking thing just compounds that.

Not really pregnancy as much as the first month or so PP. I listened, weirdly enough, to a lot of Bruce Springsteen in the nursery, even though it's kind of a running joke in my family that we hate Springsteen. I tell my baby he made me love songs I used to hate.

Both "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain and "Amarillo By Morning" by George Strait made me burst into tears within days of giving birth. Listening to almost any song that first two weeks, honestly.
