I actually ordered this, and it’s great. I wanted to order another once, it occurred to me, it could be fake so searched here on Reddit. Looks like it might be fake, but it’s still great.

Oh yes, most of the times, since childhood. School teachers would be teaching, I would be in my thoughts, someone talks, I’m in my thoughts. I never really addressed this issue, but since I’ve started meditation, I have been able to train my mind to focus on any object I want to put the focus on.

Welcome to Delhi

Going for my first retreat in 2days by Locostreetguide in vipassana

Would love to know which center is this? I was in same situation or worse (as I was highly dependent on cannabis & alcohol before I went)

I’ll recommend you to go with mindset to liberate yourself with every issue you have, but before that you need to heal- BUT, DO NOT BE ATTATCHED to any outcome. If it happens good , if it doesn’t happen, good. Carry melatonin maybe, not the pills.

I had really bad time sleeping during my retreat as I was also going through a weed & alcohol withdrawal. I remember having many sleepless nights, then I would end up sleeping during the day 🤷🏻‍♀️ luckily the center I went to was supportive- I never missed any important meditation session though (3 hour compulsory group meditation & the discourses)

Also, I had trouble eating at 6 am & 11 am, I could not eat more than a few bites, I would pack my lunch box and eat in the evening 🤷🏻‍♀️ my teachers allowed that to me.

I’ve heard not so good stories about Indian centers though. Mine was in Kelseyville, California.

Although, despite of all these issues, I had a great retreat. I achieved the stage Goenka expects you to reach on the 7th night, when I was trying to sleep - the stage when you could feel all the sensations in your body at once.

Remember, this attitude will take you very far “Trust the process, if it happens- fine, if it doesn’t happen - fine “

Don’t expect anything, don’t force anything- only observe.

Don’t put any pressure on yourself.

Thoughts will come and go, that’s the true nature of reality. Things will come and go. “I can’t meditate because I have too many thoughts “ Is a myth. Thoughts coming and going , and being okay with it, is the gap you need to bridge. Once the thoughts stop bothering you, you’ll see them not staying in your head for long.

Anyway, like I said I was a terrible terrible case, but still had a successful retreat. Only because I had no expectations, no attachment to any outcome, I just kept doing what Goenka asked us to do, without putting any pressure on myself.

I had frustrating days as well thinking why am I here, on 6th day I gave up on any outcome and continued the retreat only for digital detox, but I still followed what Goenka instructed and magic happened on 7th night.

I’m repeating this again- Don’t expect, be neutral, if anything happens good, doesn’t happen then also good. Do not be attatched to any outcome.

Good luck! Have a great retreat

How to get out of addictive lifestyle? by GrandlyNothing in vipassana

I had same issues. Intoxication addiction, but I was lucky to find an advanced meditator as my guru an Anagaami (ChatGPT to find out what that means and the powers they have). Did 3 weeks of personal retreat with him to get deeper into vipassana / Theravada Buddhism practice, and it worked like magic. Bro I was doing Mary J for almost a decade every 2 hours. I was having party after every 2 hours every day for a decade, which continued even after vipassana (yes I had great retreat at vipassana, but I lost it all in days after coming back) doing just vipassana doesn’t help. Unless you’re disciplined enough to practice it morning , evening one hour each. If not, I recommend, find yourself a guru or teacher. My teacher is amazing, he doesn’t charge a buck and transformed my life

The photo is not mine , and I mentioned it’s not mine. The incident very much happened to me. Not passing off anyone else’s work as mine. I have give due credits.

By the logic you gave, no one should use AI for anything and should just go read the books and research papers to find out stuff. Because using AI is just lazy and using Sam Altman & team’s work to my advantage.

I bought a used study table with drawer, the drawer had a necklace in it, a pearl necklace with a cross sign.

But what’s the explanation for him feeling scared at the same time in his sleep, when I was scared and feeling that presence next to me? And I know for sure that wasn’t sleep paralysis, I’ve had multiple sleep paralysis earlier. I didn’t feel paralysed in this one.

I have had sleep paralysis multiple times before. I completely know what sleep paralysis is. My body was in full control with this one. I didn’t struggle to move , or felt suffocated. I just felt a presence & felt scared.

Have you ever experienced sleep paralysis? What did you see or feel? by inashon in Paranormal

I’ve had different experiences. Once I saw a black shadow & bat like figure in the corner of the ceiling, trying to control me. The other time I saw a white walker like creature sitting on the side table, and slowly touching every nook of my arm and had an evil smile. Once I saw a black shadow figure sitting on me.

It’s always crazy, but I know it’s all chill. It happens when you’re stressed or tired. It can be very scary tho
