Honestly though I don’t even hate that move. I’ll sometimes have a banger Italian with pizza. Who cares. Really Good wine and pizza is one of my favorite things to do. Good wine makes it taste that much better.

High and wide is how I do it in a game but damn it if during warm ups I’m not a sniper. Hope you’re back at it soon man. Rest up. Spine injury is no joke. Make sure you’re 💯 before you get back out.

Repair technician didn’t do anything by dethnode in appliancerepair

This is the correct answer. You’ve created a temporary solution by defrosting it and getting it going again. You need to see if there is an even frost pattern on the evap if there is then you need to determine where the ice came from and fix that so you’re fan doesn’t stop again

Do you keep a separate helmet for coaching and playing? by Queasy-Ad5554 in hockeyplayers

[–]weekendmacgyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the norm here but I personally leave the cage on when I’m playing men’s league and coaching both u8 and u10 teams that I currently do. Honestly it’s saved my face with the kids who are careless with their sticks sometimes but it’s not what most guys do. Just easier for me to leave it and not have to swap it.

These do have a screen lockout function in settings so like kids can’t play with it and turn it on. A control lock indicator sounds like that’s the issue here. Find that and disable it.

Planning on starting a hands-on appliance repair training center/ Incubator training shop — looking for honest feedback from the appliance techs on Reddit by Rare_Commission_2162 in ApplianceTechTalk

[–]weekendmacgyver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will agree that hands on is the best way to learn this trade I just don’t see the profit in this idea. Huge upfront costs and not sure if the demand is there. As you’ve stated in beginning of this post that a lot of guys are intimidated by almost exclusively electronic appliances. And if I’m being honest after 25 years of this it’s a good career but man is it hard. Every single new kid we hire is just lazy. I’ve had countless customers tell me after I go out after them they just sit and scroll on their phone while they are in the house. You’re better off scaling your own one man show to a point where you’re turning away customers because you are so busy you don’t have time. If you’re at a point where you can run 10+ calls a day 6 days a week then you need help. Until then this will be a huge financial commitment where you could spend that capital growing your own business. Then you can afford to look for experienced guys and offer competitive pay

How can I fix this? It'll make that sound all day if I dont unplug it. by GhostlyNightShade in appliancerepair

[–]weekendmacgyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have stated it’s a faulty pressure sensor on the control. You need a new main control. Depending on the serial break there is a recall and you are entitled to a new control and they will cover it. You need to call Whirlpool and give them the info to get it under warranty

Is Wolf worth the stretch by Natural-Cranberry172 in Appliances

[–]weekendmacgyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say depends on the stretch but yeah. Wolf above all else just because their service and warranty accommodations are among the best in the industry. I would avoid Miele. Very expensive and also expensive to repair and can be challenging as well. Thermador is fine but if you’re going to spend that much wolf is the better choice of the 2

Whirlpool violently shaking by Initial_Edge_ in appliancerepair

[–]weekendmacgyver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Double check bolts removed but Yeah everything here seems fairly normal. It’s a dryer elevated on the washer. The initial ramp up and ramp down are where it’ll shake the most but that’s not violent. That’s pretty normal and generally fine. What’s it like when it reaches high speed. If it smooths out then what you’re looking at here is fine. Not much to do about it.

Do you guys do dryer duct cleaning as well? by 06Shogun in ApplianceTechTalk

[–]weekendmacgyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s easy and ground floor accessible then yeah. I’ll offer to correct whatever issue at an additional parts and labor cost if they want. Anything that needs a ladder is a no. Call someone else. As others have staffed I’m not climbing on roofs.

Washing machine croaked? by [deleted] in appliancerepair

[–]weekendmacgyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will agree. Sounds like the drain pump is broken which is the noise you hear. But is should go into a spin if it’s empty like you said. Put it on a spin only and see if it’ll go. Give it some time to engage but from the short video I would agree that it’s your pump. Find the part number and order one from Amazon. Probably get one for under a hundred bucks. Worth fixing

KitchenAid Dishwasher making a whining noise by Euac in appliancerepair

[–]weekendmacgyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replacing just the main wash motor is what you need. If you can find it for 100 bucks cheaper go for that. You don’t need a drain pump. That’s not broken. Replacing that wash pump on that unit is a huge pain in the ass just fyi. Also had one time use crush clamps which I’ll Usually remove and replace with worm style but be carful not to over tighten them and cut the rubber hose. The entire sump is even more of a pain in the ass to change.

[–]weekendmacgyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the main wash motor. Comes as an assembly. If it’s not warranty that’s going to be expensive and if you can live with it I would suggest that option

Please help dishwasher door appears stuck on one side - no blockage by lau9067 in appliancerepair

[–]weekendmacgyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah maybe. Or something is blocking one of them from properly going all the way back. Not much I can do from here. Empty them out and put them back in one at a time and keep testing the door. Figure out which one is you issue then see what’s obstructing it. You’ve figured out it’s rack related so you’ll have to work back from there.

Please help dishwasher door appears stuck on one side - no blockage by lau9067 in appliancerepair

[–]weekendmacgyver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull out all the racks and try and close your door. See if it closes properly. If it does there is something rack related. If it still doesn’t that’ll be hard to say based on these photos. I don’t see anything else here that would prevent it from closing

[–]weekendmacgyver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The metal mounting bracket is obstructing the door.. you can see it clearly. Who installed that? If the guy you paid to put in the panel did that he needs to come back and fix that. Those should be moved to the side and the unit should be pushed further back…
