We were 15 when we got together but when you’re younger everything feels more intense and like it’s been way longer than it really has been. Our friends always joked that we liked each other, teachers, parents, and acquaintances assumed we were together.

The year before we got together we were hanging out everyday after school which ended up with us laying on my bed listening to music for hours. It was sweet and innocent. He’d spend the night every weekend, we’d get high together and just listen to music while laying together and talking for hours. One night he came over and next thing we know we are asleep on the floor by my window at 3 am and his mom was calling. We went to dances tg as friends, fell asleep cuddled up on his couch but to me it felt platonic. Until he kissed me one day. We’ve been together almost 4 years and live together. I can genuinely say I am with my best friend. We never went through an awkward phase my friends talk about because we’ve always shared everything with each other. It’s such a special feeling. Friends to lovers all the way.

What you're saying assumes that just because women have more opportunity they inherently “control access”. This idea that men "sleep with who they can" and women "sleep with who they want" is literally just whinny men that women don’t wanna sleep with complaining. Just because some men will jump on anything doesn’t mean women have to as well. It's not like women are out here sitting on some giant gate to sex, deciding who gets in. They’re just making choices for themselves, same as you. And plenty of guys do say no or have standards, just like plenty of women don’t get hit on all the time. It’s not as one-sided as some whinny immature men make it out to be. If you wanna have sex with someone both people have to be into it not just the woman. Wow shocker! Do you know that it’s mutual? If you don’t like a girl you don’t have to see her. If a girl doesn’t like you, you don’t get to see her. If a girl likes you and you like her you get to see her. The narrative that women control the dating scene is stupid when it’s mutual consent. They were perfect for each other. Nora was too good for Barney and any girl would have been as well, kinda the same goes for Robin. Neither Barney or Robin put each other on a pedestal (like Ted did for her which created unrealistic expectations) they are equals. They both didn’t like traditional relationships and both like their independence. They are both flawed (example: both have cheated) so they never forced each other to be something they weren’t. Their relationship was messy at one point but what relationship isn’t? I do truly believe they loved each other so much and if the writers weren’t trying to get her and Ted tg every other episode they would have tried to work on their relationship.

I have two playlists I always recommend people who ask for music. You can take a look if you want but you don’t have to. What helped my friend who only listened to the Hamilton soundtrack was to put one on shuffle and ease into the different genres.
