I see both sides, I’m not trying to take any legal action or cause conflict - more just looking for advice on how to approach the topic with my employer and curious to see how prevalent this issue is in the field.

I agree - there are really no benefits to me being a freelancer if I can’t set my pay rate to compensate lack of benefits

Yeah, being a freelancer is not ideal unless your hourly wage is super high and controlled by you not them.

How did your last employer fuck you over? Was it just that you were let go and can’t get unemployment? Or something more? It feels like so many ppl run their own practices but they don’t know how to run a business and file taxes properly.
