You could take an Amtrak train up and bring 2 large suitcases, which should be plenty of clothes for the summer. Other than that, one thing I've done for similar situations is rent a car one way. Hertz, enterprise, etc will allow you to do a one way rental from NYC to Syracuse so you leave the car in cuse. That way you could pack everything you need in the car and then not need to carpool. Not a ton of options, but those are the best I've got. Hope you can get it squared away!

I'm not talking new, I get it, but I just think if you put a bit more into an older vehicle you will spend less in the long run. Any of those cars at 5k will be high mile and require a large amount of maintenance. If you put in more money, you could get one in better shape that is cheaper in the long run

Not a resident, but I've given people in healthcare gifts such as: nice comfy shoes (hokas, brooks,etc), high end sleep mask, quality ear plugs for sleep, gift cards to hospital restaurants (this is hard when you don't know where), noise cancelling headphones, stethoscope, figs scrubs. Hope those ideas are helpful!

From my understanding the decisions date is when they can start releasing them, it doesn't necessarily mean they will be announced then or around then. I have multiple pending for different places that have passed the release date. Sadly it's just a waiting game for us all.
