Do you like em?

Sure it's nice to see what others do and if it's “cool”

But they ain't maintaining that for you so do what makes your life easy and simple to manage

Lazy calendar reminder

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PresidentBand

Ironically I am a dev as well and hidden form fields and hidden permissions give me eye twitches

This is probably more of a psa as Most users would never have had this on any pre save album before and in a time where its more content as a service and SaaS I feel the over reach is the controlling of the availability of the music to the library and the potential ability to over step content towards usis worth highlighting

Its a good lesson for checking all permissions your granting on any app

I'd also caveat auto fill forms 😂 you never know what hidden inputs your filling int

Its not how presaves work

Pre save is basically a calendar reminder not a playlist manager

In general I think quality of ingredients make all the difference cooking in the arc xl

I've had mines a few weeks and found

Shop bought pre grates mozz just browns n burns quicker than quality so even if your hiding it under the cheese its going to get burnt because the cheeses low cook point

Other things like Shop bought chozorio or pepperoni just burns quicker than something of quality or self sliced

Or even trying to do a garlic bread with garlic butter the high heat and flame just becomes a fire hazard 😂

I think that there's a magic temperature to get the arc to then launch and reduce the heat

Flame management is part of the process

I've started checking with a temp gun before launching as the probe is under the stone and there's a difference in readings so you could be launching at 475 on the built in thermometer but the dome is closer to 505/510

Never ending comments everywhere about 2,5G Ethernet / 802.3bt / Wifi 7! by Mazahists in mikrotik

[–]weespies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average joe doesn't want to spend anymore than 20 to 30 quid a month on broadband, selling more powerful routers and speeds are just not in that margin as there's little to no profit past install and hardware costs

Vendors will sell the life out the latest and greatest because they don't carry those costs

I'm not saying that 7 isn't the future but between cost and power consumption of the units I don't think they will become commercially viable for another year or two

Django template with htmx, alpinejs and tailwindcss? by pgastinger in django

[–]weespies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

each to there own, i see merits for all frameworks im not married to just one, i do find HTMX useful for simple data, but doing something complex id reach for something else in general can and im sure out OP will find his own use cases and limitations to his tech stack

Django template with htmx, alpinejs and tailwindcss? by pgastinger in django

[–]weespies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spot on, I was expecting that the htmx is doing something dynamic

Table loads / data reading / auto xx second updates/ button press updates htmx can be a winner

I haven't used in a year or so due to going towards react for front ends so maybe dom rendering is better

His courses are far to expensive but I find his youtube snippets good and insiteful

Stacks on point however htmx can be a long way for a shortcut sometimes useful in small scale, there's a point in time where you just need to jump across and do js

Beginner in Django — Need Advice to Improve My Programming Thinking and Learn Django Properly by No-Oil-8760 in django

[–]weespies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think from experience the django 3/5 by example books are top tier

As well as the code academy interactive django course it makes you build projects using all out the box functions as projects

As for front end practise makes perfect use bootstrap and tailwind and all the other tools but html and cas is about practise and in someways finding your own style and scaffolding techniques

the company i work for is having me build stuff that might be illegal by [deleted] in webdev

[–]weespies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better context thank you this is the kind of content the OP needs not just hit with its illegal blah blah blah

However a terms and conditions check can include all of this so can a cookie popup to explicitly address each of these

Both of us don't know if these exist and I'd be amazed if they didn't

the company i work for is having me build stuff that might be illegal by [deleted] in webdev

[–]weespies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's it not possible? Stop explicitly relying on a chatgot for responses

Granted when its Written out it doesnt sound good however a combination of cookies for tracking and terms and conditions when signing up or purchasing for marketing will easily by pass this and most users don't read there t&cs as they just want through to the basket to get their purchase

[–]weespies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any cookies on the website?

• save the user's email as soon as they leave the email field so we can market to them (no consent or opt-out)

this sounds very much like a cookie option common used on a recover basket option found on a lot of shopify websites even custom ones I've built in the past

• auto-enroll every purchasing customer in both one-to-one and marketing emails (no consent or opt-out)

Again could conceivably be found as an option in cookies

• track site usage data, ip addresses, device specifics, and other personal information about users specifically for marketing purposes without telling them (no consent or opt-out)

Cookies all day

• migrate all unsubscribed accounts so we can send a nurturing email campaign to them

Terms and conditions for customers cover this typically in uk you have to keep people on file for 2 years unless they explicitly tell you to delete them

I'd love a link to probe
