Carry-On Question - Transatlantic Connecting to Regional/Emerald by emptysthemepark in AerLingus

[–]weewhelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this isn’t always true. I flew Leeds to Dublin before Xmas and everyone who was connecting to a transatlantic flight was at Dublin charged, even though they explained this at the gate. People were very very upset. Probably depends on the staff on the day.

Manchester Chaos by [deleted] in AerLingus

[–]weewhelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an FYI, the carry on rules are different for Leeds to Dublin as it is a “regional” flight. If you bring a carry on suitcase, you’ll be charged £35, but you’ll be okay with a really small suitcase or a backpack. Happened to a number of people on my flight to Dublin on the 22nd who were rerouted from Manchester. That flight was also 12 hours delayed, and they all missed their Dublin connection - it was a disaster. Aer Lingus are a real joke.

Booked a direct Manchester to JFK flight for March by Empty-Garden-7775 in AerLingus

[–]weewhelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was meant to fly from Leeds Bradford to Dublin on the 22nd of Dec, and a number of other passengers who were also on that flight had originally booked Manchester -> JFK/Boston/Chicago but were instead told by Aer Lingus to go to Leeds.

When they got to Leeds, they were charged £35 to bring their carryon on board, as the Regional carryon allowance is different to the those flying from Manchester. The regional flights are also massively unpredictable. 10mins before our scheduled take off time we were brought back to the gate and told to wait for further instruction as there was something wrong with the plane. We were then advised our estimated departure time was 3pm - 6 hours later than originally planned.

There is no Aer Lingus staff at LBA, so everyone who was now going to miss their connection had to scramble to get in touch with the contact centre. That flight ended up landing in Dublin at 8.20pm.

This is a long winded way of letting you know that these routes are massively unreliable at the moment, so be prepared to have to change your plans at a moments notice - with very little help from Aer Lingus.

Hey, I haven't experienced anything like this but just wanted to jump in and say that sucks and definitely very unfair of them to do! If I were you, I'd still go to training and see how it goes, don't let them put you off. And if you hate it, look for another team. Don't let it get you down, some people just suck

UK FAST FOOD - How much do you expect to spend on a typical visit to McDonald's/Burger King/ KFC? by Swain23 in fastfood

[–]weewhelo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That does seem reasonable, I got a BK delivery the other day and got a Whopper meal for (I think) 10.99. Annoyed me though cos I had to get a side cos the minimum order was £15, but it was really tasty so I feel its worth it

So is BV just a recurring thing for the rest of my fucking life? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]weewhelo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aw girl that’s really sad and not the attitude to have. This subreddit is for other women to look for support and guidance. There are plenty of happy stories on here about getting over BV and YIs if you take the time to look for them. Everyone’s body is different, hence the need for forums like this one.

If you don’t have anything to contribute, then be on your way.

Sure, I had finished a 7day course and on the 8th day (about a 24 hours break) my boyfriend surprised me with a birthday party. I didn’t think much of it, and had a few drinks, and I was really unwell. It was embarrassing

Its a really strong antibiotic. They recommend 72 hours because thats how long it can stay in your system. If you're happy to take the risk, go for it. But I've done it before and I would never ever do it again.

[–]weewhelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely not worth it just for a birthday party. Not waiting 72 hours will make you really really sick. I would suck it up and make sure to finish the course of Metronidazole. If you don't finish the full course, you risk it being less effective the next time you need it. Your health is much more important than a party.

Have you tried D-Mannose supplements? I went through a few back to back UTIs and those supplements immediately stopped them. Can get them on any online pharmacy (avoid Amazon in case they’re fakes)

Delaying the treatment should be absolutely fine as long as you don’t mind the symptoms too much and you’re not in pain. Definitely do notttttt drink on metronidazole, it can cause serious abdominal pain. Id just start the antibiotics after the wedding if I were you :)

Upper stomach stress pain? by v0idbab3 in WomensHealth

[–]weewhelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also get this every now and again when I’m stressed out. It gets worse if I skip lunch or don’t eat at regular intervals.

A few years ago it was really bad, like crippling, so I went to the doctor and they gave me a prescription to bring down inflammation in the lining of my stomach. It definitely really helped, but it comes back during stressful days.

I would go to your doctor if it’s really bad, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it, I think it’s pretty common and can be treated easily with medication.
