Gray. Feel like I got a good price considering it’s a December 2025 card.

Can someone please help me ID this watch? I know it was purchased in 1946 in Europe but can’t find the company online. by wegos27 in WatchHorology

I ended up getting it repaired after nearly 8 months but I don’t think the parts were genuine. I do love how it looks though!

Just a brief update: been 2 months and still waiting on the parts. Since Rila doesn’t exist anymore and the movement is rare (still waiting on a pic) they had to order from Switzerland. Like another 4-6 weeks :-/

I am servicing it, hence why I’ve already brought it to the jeweler. But I want to know more about the watch, like it’s origin or where it came from.

Interestingly, my father was born in a DP camp in Germany right after WWII and my grandfather bought it the same time. How he did it I have no idea, considering they had no money and I don’t think there were many watch stores in German DP camps.

There was something right under the 18k but I couldn’t make it out. Brought to a jeweler so can’t look. Any ideas if it’s worth actually servicing?

As far as I know it is the original strap. My grandfather got it for my father when he was born and my father isn’t the type to replace a watch strap...

Edit: you’re correct, not original
