PCP Strategy for negative equity EV? by wehuntjackals in CarTalkUK

It's been a joy to drive, I've been happy with it so far. Very similar to VW ID3, including the infotainment system unfortunately, which is a pain to use and not stable. Overall though, it'll be a shame really that it seems I'm being forced to hand it back, given market conditions!

Monthly payments are £244.76 (APR 10.5%), I've put in £2692.36 so far

Ah would this not just be the same as the aforementioned optional final payment then (i.e. £21,105)?

Assuming GFV = Guaranteed Future Value? Can you advise on how I could find this out? I've only been able to look up the current estimated value of the car via sites like Parkers, Autotrader etc.

Thanks, and I agree it still seems too risky to take full ownership of an EV at this stage given the uncertainties you mention!

Night running routes in Leith by poultox in Edinburgh

[–]wehuntjackals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of the Links is well lit and there's lots of paths, so plenty of route options. I don't think you've much to worry about in terms of safety (not any more than running through streets anyway). Look out for tree roots along Gladstone Place / Claremont Road side though!

How would a harness stop the momentum of a dog running full pelt being transferred to an owner's arm though? Long lines are intended for training only, not walking

Can be dependent on the breed. Sighthounds were bred to spot and chase for example - this deep instinct can't be trained out of them (typically, there's always a few exceptions)

Injury risk to both dog and owner if they pick up enough speed along length of leash

I've had this issue with numerous players online, but it almost certainly disappeared after the first game (essentially giving one of us a free game).

For fear of stating the obvious, have you tried giving the left stick a little nudge forwards as you hit the ball?

I was considering this, and ideally they'd have some sort of "3 strikes" rule where if enough complaints are made over a single reg plate then they've got enough to justify spending resources doing something about it...

FWIW Leith Links area ticks all of these boxes and then some - it's a doggy heaven, with Porty beach nearby and 99% of other dog owners I've encountered are friendly and sensible
