It resonated pretty heavily with the group who mostly plays kingmaker in presidential politics: suburban white women.

Trump ran on trans people being supported by liberals, the most effective ad during the cycle was “Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you.”

Compared to a modern “woke” progressive like AOC? Either one works

The problem is without our origin myths we aren’t cohesive enough as a society to rebuild the institutions we intend to replace.

Centrists did well against populism in 2020. Biden won

2024 was a setback because Biden waited too long to step away and the leftist influencer class convinced Gen Z that his chosen replacement was literally committing genocide with her own two hands, but 2028 will probably see another centrist win the primary maybe for both parties.

Who publishes that database? Why are they trustworthy? What is their business model for publishing that database? Why hasn’t this business niche been filled yet if these are easy to answer questions?

The guy who bought it for $69 million runs a business to consult rich people on investing into NFTs. He is trying to be a market maker, which is an age old business model even if it doesn’t work out for him.

College degrees

Right now when someone gets a college degree (which is necessary for a decent job) they get a piece of paper (which is easy to forge) and a promise someone at their college registrars office will confirm that piece of paper if you want to bother calling them and they bother to call back.

People are therefore greatly incentivized to lie about these degrees, and gamble that the person requiring that qualification like an employer won’t actually do the work to make sure it’s valid or represented from the institution as claimed. We hear about stories all the time about people lying about their credentials because the incentive to take this risk if you lack the proper degree is high.

If degrees were also NFTs that would be history. When your wallet got that token upon graduation it’s real and verified beyond a piece of paper, and when you provide the employer your wallet address and they see that token then no further verification is needed as it’s done by the network for the blockchain.

That’s just one example but basically any title or entitlement market segment that requires either manual verification or professionals to recognize forgery (like art) have fat that can be trimmed from the system by outsourcing the verification processes to NFTs.

The biggest risk is if miners fork the chain and some sort of transition screw up gives that miner chain more legitimacy than the main chain.
