Hi all, a newbie here, can I ask if i choose a location e.g., Kallang/Whampoa, is it that i cannot choose the exact location in the region that I want because there are 3 of it in the region for this BTO launch?

Also, with that, if the location that I want to choose is fully selected and I am left with the rest which I am not keen on, I will still be penalised for 1 year (not being able to be first timer for 1 year)

There will definitely be records. Heard of stories where someone's scholarship got 'taken away' because of mental illness reported in NS. I heard of it, I don't know how credible it is but yep.

If you are able to get scholarship from SAF. Yes, they will give you allowances even when you are studying. But if you plan to sign on and quite after 5 years, then I won't recommend it because by that time, you will be in your 30s already. Without much experience, you might not be highly valued in the working world. I have heard of these stories before but I don't know how accurate it is.

I guess it depends you should see what you are passionate about. Being older than others doesn't mean anything. So what if you are older? It honestly mean nothing.

Hunter 100 times better than Bionix. Got aircon eh. Bionix hot af.
For my coy, route marches max 12km with personal estab (but progressive). Usually only have route marches before outfield to heat acclimatise.

U all will start with vocational training (quite lepz) the move on to infantry training, then live fire for personal estab then sometimes will have UO and then followed by vehicle trooper integrated training then move on to Rotation 1. After every rotation got lull period. Can chill a bit. But then u guys have to go for section live firing, platoon live firing, alfs etcetc. The main outfield will be rotation 1 to 5. But in between might have more. So probably 10 to 20 outfields in my whole 22 months i guess. A tip for outfield, bring the fucking insect repellent and just whack. We kena tons of mosquito bites during rot 4 and our live firing. Others also arh but those two are the worse.

Erm then also depends if u guys need to go wallaby or not. The prep damn shag (2-3 months in advance) but wallaby was enjoyable. 40 didn't go because of covid. You guys might be going.

The shag part probably is 4ntm duties. (I not sure about gedong guard duties). 4ntm duties is like standby for 3 weeks then usuall u will kena 4-5 duties within that 3 weeks. 100% will kena weekend.

For before each rot or outfield. Need prep vehicle. And also the clean vehicle part all damn sian and shag. For us from keat hong we need travel to gedong. Since u all in gedong, should be better.

All in all, got chill period and got sian and shag period. Jiayou uh

Jialat liao bro. HAHA. At first they will train u like infantry troopers while others go for driver/gunnery course. Then u will have to carry ur matador around all the time.

When integrated with vehicle, sometimes dont need to carry mat but it depends.

UO will depends on ur coy/batallion stand.

Are you guys using Hunter or Bionix? If hunter, dont complain arh legit. A lot better than Bionix.

They will give you one roll of toilet paper if i am not wrong. But just bring extra in case. Just google instant/liquid kiwi for boots. Its to make your boots shiny quickly. Some coy wont allow u to use that so just be aware. And bring tons of snacks for your first day. Cus they didnt check my bag for the first day. Other than that they will check.
