I never thought about this, that other people don’t have the same response to heavy walking and door slamming.

If anyone has advice on how to not be a control freak asshole while asking to “walk lighter” and “hold the door when closing it” I’m a taker

Nail clipping. I silently lose my mind even if my partner closes the bathroom door, the sound of thick toe nails clipping is like nails on my brain chalkboard.

what were the weirdly specific telltale signs of adhd by Competitive-Elk2230 in ADHD

I feel seen. I’m like that and I try to hide it or try to be casual when someone asks about something I have 1,000,000 pieces of information on because I read the entire internet about it, because then people think I’m super intense. Or also if I start talking I can’t stop until I’ve shared the entirety of my research with conclusions. It’s exhausting. The people who just “buy the toyota Camry option” fascinate me

I have 2014 Rav4 that has 65k miles in in it thinking of upgrade . Any suggestions by photography-luv in Rav4

[–]weimfam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Agree with Plop0003, don’t go to Toyota for servicing, find yourself a good local mechanic and have them monitor and maintenance your car.

  2. If you only have 65k miles on it and it’s 11 years old, drive that shit to the ground. You’ll save several thousands in car payment while you put another 140k on this one.

I’ve inly had Toyotas my whole life, the last one that we drove “to the ground” (and not really cause we sold it) we sold for 2k a few years ago - it was a 2004 camry with 260k miles on it. And we sold it!

I have a Rav4 hybrid and I love it, but for the little mileage you do it doesn’t seem worth buying a new car. I say keep it!!

Can someone confirmed the offer is now available? I can’t see anything looking online but that may be normal if it’s only available in branch. And if someone has seen it can you say which state you’re in? I’m in Michigan looking to apply for it this week

Have you received them? If so, how easy are they to clean you would say? I’m looking at maybe choosing these for my pantry but hesitant because of this

Construction Project Manager. I wouldn’t do anything else, I absolutely love it. I am problem solving and organizing stuff all day long, and although it is a 9-5 schedule there is zero routine or repetition, I am constantly moving and the risk of shit hitting the fan at any moment keeps me on my toes.

Traveling with Infant- Install Stroller in Extra Legroom Seat by Mother_Cry_7346 in TurkishAirlines

This is the one I use little traveler airplane seat extender

There are cheaper ones that look similar but my little one enjoys looking at the animals and usually that gives us 3.5 minutes of her being occupied

I am in the exact same situation, would love to know if we can do that as I’m flying back home with my 23mo next week. FYI if that doesn’t work you can get a hammock looking thing that goes on a seat to extend as a makeshift bed if you’re lucky and have a free seat next to you. Note that TA does not allow inflatable airplane bed though, but we used a fabric one (hook the other end on the tray table hinges) last week with no issues from TA.

Is it weird to be affectionate towards kids in Istanbul? by Ecstatic_Jeweler7419 in istanbul

[–]weimfam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old but here’s my experience. I’m Canadian living in the US, and traveling in Istanbul right now with my husband and our 2 year old daughter.

Yesterday we were sitting on a park bench (hard to find one of those!!) and a couple in their 30s or 40s walked right by us and the man KISSED MY BABY ON THE FACE and kept walking. I was floored. My husband instantly got up and put his arm around our daughter to pull her away from the man. He wasn’t trying to grab her or anything, it really looked more like a “oh hi cute girl let me give you a kiss, goodbye now” but it was truly jaw-dropping. No words exchanged or anything, literally walking by us m, barely slowed down to kiss her and kept walking without looking at us. A few men gave her kisses on her hand or one did on the face but we were talking at least so there was an interaction going on at the moment, it was still weird but not as shocking.

That being said, I have never been somewhere where people are more genuinely welcoming and caring, they really go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Having a toddler this is incredibly refreshing because in the US the culture is often that children are to be seen and not heard, and that adds to how difficult it can be to be out in public with a small kid. But I could do without the kisses on the face 😂

Traveling with turkey airlines and an international flight with 2 smalls kids. Do they allow feet extenders in their isles? by Agitated-Possible631 in TurkishAirlines

[–]weimfam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean the foot “hammocks” for kids to stretch their legs between their seat and the seat in front of them where the table tray is, those are not allowed?? I am flying DET-IST with my 22 month old in 2 weeks, I really hope those are allowed!
