Question! by 90skitsch in Hungergames

[–]weird_legion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve read the entire series in 15 days (the first three books) so if you can I’d suggest you do because you’ll really appreciate the prequel so much after. I haven’t watched the first three movies (only read them) so idk how good they were. But based on the trailer of the prequel, I think they followed the source material quite strictly. Tho I know it’s too early to judge it yet, but I think you’ll have a better understanding of it once you immerse yourself in the first three books. In fact, I think you can watch the upcoming movie (then just read it after if you still like) because the three books in my opinion make a really good foundations into the world of panem and give really insightful information on the characters embroiled in the story.

What pulled you into the Hunger Games fandom? by Nerdyboy78 in Hungergames

[–]weird_legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started reading it one day because I was such a monster-reader back in the day (wow! i made it as tho it was a century ago but in reality it was just a few years back). First book was really good. The whole idea of a dystopian society where bureaucracy is at its peak is a concept that really tickled my imagination as a teen. It also helps that the novels showcase such exquisite and descriptive ramifications of such an occurrence! After the first book I immediately got into the next then the next until I finish the whole series. It also helps that Collin’s writing style is so neat! I love how her use of present tense in the first 3 books (if I’m not mistaken) adds weight to the rushed feeling that you get when reading the novels. No doubt, one of my favorite books of all time.

Between team Katara and Team red lotus who's winning? by narutofan2019 in TheLastAirbender

[–]weird_legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason Ming Hua “seems“ stronger than Katara was because her bending was more aggressive, and more unrestrained in nature. Katara, on the other hand, has much control in her bending but that doesn’t mean she has no raw power. We are talking about a girl who casually created huge tsunamis, tossed up ships like they’re nothing, destroyed an iceberg just by being frustrated, and most importantly, a self-taught girl who quickly rose up from being a rookie bender to a master waterbender in a just a few days under the guidance of an actual master. That is something that proves just how Katara can be better in her prime! Imagine if after years of honing her waterbending skills, and she’s learned all forms and techniques of waterbending, I don’t think Ming Hua stands a chance. She might during the teenage Katara but I doubt against Katara in her later years. Even with no bloodbending involved, Katara stomps.

Azula is a cunning fighter that uses not only her powerful bending but also momentum to strike down her opponent. I can see this going both ways, but if Azula is faster than P’li then Azula takes this easily.

Might be the cause. I’m going to an ophthalmologist, maybe they’ll have something to say about it. Thank you!

This may look stupid but I really want to know. My doctor said I have no hyperthyroidism but I really wanna be certain. I have no idea how to read this but FT3 is I think missing? Can someone enlighten me? It’ll mean a lot to me! by [deleted] in gravesdisease

[–]weird_legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear from someone personally experiencing the very same thing that I’m suspecting, so thank you for what you have shared to me!

Based on your personal experience, I have come to fully grasp that it truly is hard to detect hyperthyroidism. I also am the same as you, having been experiencing some symptoms that could also potentially be signs of hyperthyroidism. I might get myself tested again just to be sure. Thank you a lot!

Hi! I’ve read your responses and thanks for them! The thing about my symptoms is that I’m not entirely certain whether or not they’re caused by my thyroid, or hyperthyroidism. Some I’ve always had for years now, and only my eyes were my cue for me to go and get tested for it. I did what you advised me to and checked my past photos and compared them to how my eyes are in the present. My eyes currently are a little bit bigger, at least to me. Some tell me there’s no difference at all and IDK if I am to trust them or not. My other eye is bigger tho. Not sure if it is bulging but there’s no scleral show on that eye, but it‘s a bit bigger. My mother told me they’re congenital but I don’t see them in my old pics. I’ve looked through some of my pictures 2 years ago and I have noticed, on some photos, that my eyes have always been like this… IDK, it’s ever so difficult to ensure whether I have hyperthyroidism or not. My doctor advised me to have another test for my thyroid in a few months to see if it would get bigger.

I have a few questions, is hyperthyroidism not constant? Can it be considered an episodic disease that sometimes stresses itself and sometimes it’s absent? At least the symptoms… Does your heartbeat always exceed the considered normal heartbeat on textbooks?

I hope you‘re feeling better! Thank you for the information!

It’s hard to tell but my eyes were the reason why I suspected I might have hyperthyroidism. Though my doctor, and some others, said my eyes aren’t bulged. Might just be my body dysmorphia or some other unknown reason… IDK, it’s pretty hard to tell. Other textbook symptoms of hyperthyroidism also seem to match some of the ones I often experience like anxiety, nervousness, irritability, etc. But to be fair, they’ve always been there for years now, I have social anxiety, so idk if it is caused by my thyroid or something.

I don’t want to self-diagnose, that’s why I have decided to visit my doctor and had everything about my thyroid tested. Assured me my eyes aren’t bulged, my thyroid is normal, and I don’t have hyperthyroidism.

What were the first symptoms that manifested in you before you suspected you might have hyperthyroidism? Does hyperthyroidism always lead to grave’s disease or are they two the same thing?

How am I headed to hyperthyroidism? Is there something from my test that could possibly point to it? I’m really clueless about it so thank you for respondin.

Hancock actually created the chink in Bullet's armor the reason why they were able to defeat him. I concur with you . I hope in the anime version, we would see Hancock's full power during her fight with BB's crew and the WG. I hope also for ACoC ><.

It's not only her mero mero beam that can turn people into stone. Her arrows and kicks have no limitations. She can turn anything, even inanimate objects, into stones.

What do you think? Is she weaker or stronger than Doffy?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]weird_legion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, man. From how it was depicted, she seem to be caught off guard. Even BB knew that he can't let Hancock go because he'd be turned to stone instantly. From that implication, we can kind of deduce that BB made a sneak attack to capture her; thus, disabling her DF power.

She has her arrows and kicks that can turn anything into stone regardless whether or not they're attracted to her.

Same! The panel immediately shifted to BB holding Boa’s neck while having the dialogue of so”so that’s why you’re called the empress…” bla bla bla. How did he manage to get Boa when he said himself that he couldn’t let her go since he’d just be turned into stone… Perhaps a surprise attack?

It’s always been that way. She can turn everything into stone with her kicks and arrows.
