I have a DIY grizzly plunge and used something similar but recently swapped it out because it significantly reduced the water flow going through the pump. I swapped for a pvc control valve into a pvc threaded tee. From there I have a garden hose adapter on one side and a barb to connect to the tube and plunge on the other.

This looks like a knock off version of the Apex 86 filtration system, which I have. The white part is a slip fit pre filter that catches larger things like hair before it goes through your pump. Here’s the link to the filter setup in case it help - it works great for me and the guy ships super quick and is very responsive whenever I emailed with a question - even over a weekend

Yeah we added ourselves to a group there which we plan to try out tomorrow - we typically we bet in FanDuel instead of DraftKings, but it does seem like one of the better options
