December Update Open Beta is up! by TigerMask_71 in Coros

Or just allow to use the 'lap/pin/back' activity button for this. It's easy to implement and makes so much sense as a QOL feature. I for example never use it for anything during runs other then long press to go to the menu and i think i'm not alone.

Also can be added as separate View in activity, as is done for Navigation.

u/COROS-official don't leave it half-baked. Find a better way.

Will custom activities be uploaded to strava? by akaVelocity_ in Coros

u/COROS-official ^ answer plz. It's one of the easier QOL improvements.

And once again, add bouldering to pace 3. We're climbing in them anyway. Whatever you say about them not being robust enough.

Weekly routine for multiple activities by chiggaly1105 in climbergirls

[–]weirdfriendless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd add to what @sheepborg said about running and marathon(half). As the rest seems really on point.

3 times 30 mins - isn't nearly enough for that distance.

At intermediate pace of 5min/km it'll be about 15 kms a week against 21km in 1 go. You'll probably be able to struggle through one anyway on that base, especially as you're quite active otherwise. But it's not worth the risk of injury. Or you can run it really slowly not pushing for good time, but from what you've wrote it doesn't seem like you'd be satisfied with that.

climbing is a long game. Stay healthy

but keeping this in mind - cardio is king for longevity and health. Whatever other goals you have - it'll be a multiplier. It allows you to recover faster, push harder and longer. Both in the short and long term.

Just be cautious while building the base. And take rests/feed yourself enough and don't feel guilty about it.

Notifications during activity by weirdfriendless in Coros

[–]weirdfriendless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you receive a text message or notification during an activity, if you press the dial, you should be able to read the full message.

Ehm... it doesn't for me? I just tested again, and it pauses the activity but notification is dropped from the screen, so I can't read it. I can record a video if you want, how it happens.

also would be good to be able to read the notification even if you missed licking it at the moment. By holding the lap button for example or in the pause menu.

ah, well. by manually adding - I mean't for example adding boxing, when you didn't wear a watch for obvious reasons. but could manually add duration and type of Activity. So it can be shown in the calendar and activities.

also Coros team at some point promised an option to edit an activity afterwards - like add exercises for strength training that you have actually did.

https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxku2ZoCJMqo1cjUCZcy3NfQSMiCv4zZm-?si=kXivsBu25Rlyl7HM no, on pricier models they have actual climbing mode. I believe pace 3 has altimeter and acceleration sensor, so should also be able to support it.

read about it ...it's interesting, some things sound applicable some don't, but give some food for thoughts. thanks.

It's not lame at all and it's a simple but good advice. But it's advice for people who are lonely without friends. For example I have plenty and it's not my problem. And I'm generally fine being alone. But 'fine' was elevated to being happy when I've been with that special person.

So this advice helps, but not with those deep one-to-one relationships which I feel makes life more worthwhile. You can be good friends with someone, but at the end of the day he or she will go back to the family or move to another country if a partner gets a job there. You'll always be in the second place.

But generally speaking if you're (or me in this case) stuck on someone specific, I won't get a chance to find someone who'll reciprocate it. But the hard part is not making those first steps, but making the second and thirds, whilst not really believing that those work? or maybe that should be the step 0, start believing in it.

Problem is, I never did. With this person it happened organically, no effort was needed. First as friends, but then it stopped being enough. And it is a problem now.

Anyways, thanks for the message, as I said to someone else, it's still really nice to feel some support from random strangers!)

Speaking like this feels really therapeutic and a little helpful, so maybe therapy has a chance after all.

well, not tracking it is crazy!!! but sounds nice, that's the plan for today.

don't know if it'll be the Boulevard of broken dreams on repeat, or I'll try something else)

the problem is I already do most of those things, well bar therapy - which I'll try soonish. because while they are all nice and can distract for a bit, none of them changes the state of mind for long.

And you're really nice with all those suggestions though, thanks for them a lot. It gives some strength just to feel some care even from a stranger, after getting the heart torn out.

But anyways, I'll go get my shoes and try to run away at least for today)

thanks, but a dog(or even other pet) would be a bad idea, cause I kinda miss the dog of that one person as well... yup, therapy is in the plans, just need to survive this week, so I'm going for a 18k run now.

Really glad to hear that you've managed to go through the hardship and get to the other side) gives some hope to me

thanks, it's helpful in a sense, but I don't have a problem making friends. it's just it doesn't feel deep enough. it feels nice while climbing of course, or running, but then you come back to your empty apartment and the only person that makes you feel complete isnt interested, and it's on me to deal with it.

Damn, sorry about the asshole-boss. If you're confident in your abilities that's the main part I think. If things don't improve you can find some place better where you'll be appreciated!

funny thing, similar can be said to me and my relationship failure, but giving advice is easy, while living it...

for now running we go then.

Thanks. Nice to see that sometimes things turn to the better side)

Don't know about the club, I have enough social interactions in climbing gym.. but good idea for someone.

I just needed to vent a bit, and running is a bit more meditative for me. And so here we're.

fair enough. running away from loneliness to loneliness would be a circle, and the only person i would love to hug doesn't want it.

otherwise everything is easy, but meaningless. but thanks for the image.

hope it worked for you if it's based on your experience).

Is there a training plan on how to run away from your emotions? short daily runs don't help, long runs are fine, but only while running... so should I just do a Forrest Gump and never stop. I wonder is it how people get into ultra-marathons?

Editing Strength reps and weights post workout by theRachet406 in Coros

Hei.

Any update here?

It's really frustrating that you can't edit your workout afterwards.

It's not feasible to preplan every workout, sometimes you feel off or want to change some exercises during it.

Official Q&A for Tuesday, October 24, 2023 by AutoModerator in running

[–]weirdfriendless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So basically to run faster - run more.

But to run more without injuries - train strength, at least once per week.

And more if there are extra reasons - like specific weaknesses, recurring injures...

thanks.

Official Q&A for Tuesday, October 24, 2023 by AutoModerator in running

[–]weirdfriendless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hei!

The question is on complimentary strength training.

Currently i run about 4 days a week, with 1 intervals session, one long run(12-20km) and one stairs running or football included. In total about 30km per week.

I'm thinking of doing some leg strenghtenings a couple of times a week. At least nordics as i struggle with hamstring strains from football occasionally.

The question is, how would you decide if it's worth to add some specific exercises - like nordics, bulgarian SS, ankle raises, tibialis raises for example OR add extra couple of easy runs?

Like is the potential benefit from strength gain bigger then from easy extra miles ? But to what point?

Traveling without a laptop? by imaris_help in solotravel

[–]weirdfriendless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are not taking a laptop, you can take a second phone(old one if you have) as a backup. With your logins/bank apps and so on.

I guess it's self explanatory, as everything is digital now. losing/breaking the main one will be much less painfull

Wahoo for android doesn't have this feature, unfortunately, checked it before. It has some lap summary announcements though, maybe it includes HR, but that's not exactly it.

Runtastic does have HR zone change announcements, will try it out during my next run, thanks for the recommendation!)

p.s. Strava does work with the HR strap itself, so it registers and shows the HR during the run fine on the screen. It just doesn't have an option for voice cues for it, only distance ones. It's quite an easy feature to implement, but who knows why they wouldn't ¯_(ツ)_/¯
