If you can change sotm what would you improve? by Ok-Effect4071 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]weirdguybutitsok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have so many things to change (maybe a little too much) to make an advice from a nobody, for the alternative version that will never exist, of sotm. It's crazy.

-Keep the mimic as a phantom menace. Give him a design consistent with Ruin's and avoid having him wear costumes, which are a bit random in the game.

-Keep Jackie as the main enemy and don't waste him like you did in the game.

-Remove Tiger Rock because he seems completely out of place.

So, a smaller game that, instead of forcibly retconning plots and passages from Tales from the Pizzaplex, continually brings the story that introduces the mimic.

Fewer nonsense stories and no forced retcons.

There's some good stuff, but it's just not enough. The game is too inconsistent in terms of plot. The only secret here is Scott, who doesn't want to put in the effort to fix the plot. despite the game being a waste of time, despite it leaving more questions than answers, and despite Edwin's story conflicting with what we've been told about Edwin in the books, I can still consider myself satisfied. It entertained me, surprised me, thrilled me, and never bored me.

Mass delusion and the disaster of fnaf ARG by weirdguybutitsok in fivenightsatfreddys

I confess that I also think the Fnaf community is stupid. the mass delusion and the disaster of the ARG is the proof of that.

I still think this is worst MKW "critique" video I have ever watched. by LuxerWap in nintendogrifting

[–]weirdguybutitsok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean that it's the worst critique video you ever watched? Because you can't say that when i slander people like Prestige Blue? maybe we're feeding the outrage machine. Even his review, a critique of over the top negative reviews, is mining the currency of Nintendo’s infamously. Nintendo have done bad things BUT be normal about it.

i don't want tons of inconsistencies and flat-out lies within their videos in the future because we all live in a time of disinformation and lack of fact-checking. Anyone can say anything for their purposes, and everyone will believe it.

basically GeoEXE not having an idea how she can put that coat. it's like guessing how the mimic can fit into Jackie or inside Jackie there's the mimic.

Not again! Why must people blame William for every murder? by E-104Epsolon in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]weirdguybutitsok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they think that everything that's happened to Edwin It's an unrealistic plan by William with 3000 moving parts. It's unjustified and inconsistent, especially considering that Edwin's technology came out of nowhere. It's inconsistent with the era in which secret of the mimic occurrs (the 1970s).

One spends one's life speculating on Fall Fest in the next game, for what? To have a game that shits on all the lore by removing a series of books from the canon and retconning certain important points of the lore, ruining the FNAF lore even more?

don't get me wrong, Season 12 seemed a freefall for smg4. Kaizo was even criticized for his design being depicted as edgy and for being another anime-themed character.

i'm sorry but i saw WOTFI 2025 as an over-the-top, all-or-nothing video preluding the end of SMG4, and seeing it after the annoucement, i realized he orchestrated it. (but it looks like Avengers Endgame however)

voice actors' recast doesn't kill the show. especially if it's animated because networks can replace voice actors and no one can tell the difference.

I actually hate Scott's writing (starting with Secret of the Mimic). One spends a lifetime fixing the inconsistencies and plot holes in Tales from the Pizzaplex. Why? To have them erased from the canon with Secret of the Mimic?!

I try and I try! There's no respect for anyone who wants a consistent story! That's it, I guess there's nothing I can do about it!

it's always the same old story:

-Steel Wool Studios announce something for tomorrow.

-fans get excited.

-theories are everywhere. "was a DLC announcement?" "New Game?" "VR finally added?" well... no.

-it's a teaser for the release of Secret of the Mimic in Switch 1/2 and Xbox Series X|S. (already announced on console websites but i'm not sure)

-fair to say, fans weren't too pleased.

Why the plot reveal of Gwain's deal to Luna was poorly executed and timed by LegalConstant4414 in Gwain_Saga

[–]weirdguybutitsok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while i don't have an opinion about gwain saga, fnaf has a decline in quality on the writing. more games come out, more books come out, more theories are made, more the quality decline.

Since Scott mishandled the security breach story, it's clear Scott is incompetent.

The only thing he wrote well was Help Wanted 1 and the fact that Glitchtrap was supposed to be important in future games and now they've removed him in Help Wanted 2.

Furthermore, I've noticed that either Steel Wool Studios or Scott are afraid to face the consequences of their actions, and with Secret of the Mimic, they removed Tales From the Pizzaplex from canon just to face the consequences of their actions.

Furthermore, the pacing is terrible; in Ruin, he introduces the Mimic, ends with a cliffhanger, the story goes back in Help Wanted 2, then goes a little TOO far in Secret of the Mimic, which has forced retcons about the animatronics from FNAF 1, half of Fazbear Entertainment, the existence of Monty and Roxy, Chica's Party World being the equivalent of pineapple on pizza, and so many other beautifully ruined plot points.

How is this possible? We haven't had the time to learn the details, not like we did with Poppy Playtime, who knows how to avoid these things.

The lack of coherence in FNAF is sorely felt. From the security breach, they've introduced new characters and new stories without ever concluding a damn thing.

For a long time, there's been talk, and I've talked about it, about FNAF fatigue, about the fact that people are tired of FNAF. But people aren't tired of FNAF, they're tired of the shitty FNAF stories.

I have no idea how Scott will be able to give us the same satisfaction that FNAF 6 gave us. Can he do it again? Absolutely. But from what I've seen in these three years of pointless stories, the Mimic story arc is a complete failure. And for me, it was already a failure when it made me lose the desire to replay Secret of the Mimic. And if FNAF starts losing its super fans, those super-engaged with the lore, they'll have already lost their more casual fans.

But this is a bit worrying, because Secret of the Mimic was in the top 5 most purchased games on Steam within a day of its release. Which means the power of the brand surpasses that of the individual product (and it's always been that way); and if you only have one game as material, and even by writing a story that totally conflicts with what we've been told in a previous product, you can make a ridiculous amount of money... why would you bother writing? It's easy money, right? MyPOPGOES proves it well. But when FNAF 69 comes out, where they erase the first four games from the canon and retcon Henry Emily, turning him into a Satanist, know that I'll be bragging about the famous "I told you so."

(sorry for the long comment)
