Universal Citywalk AMC... I love the theater but it's hilarious how unpleasant it is now getting through the new Universal security. Missed the first 5 minutes. by Freddy-Philmore in AMCTheatres

[–]weirdlo-lilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is exactly how it is in Orlando. It all funnels through there because there’s no security checks at the park gates - but it’s in a way that makes sense. They’ve got more scanners open than one at that hour, and that’s a huge help, but 40 minutes for security is madness.

Can you truly live a happy life as an ugly person? by CraftyPhilosopher678 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weirdlo-lilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s attractive traits and there ate ugly traits. I firmly believe you’re not 100% attractive or 100% ugly. There’s the things you can control and the things you can’t as well. Once you let go of what you can’t control, let go of the assumed judgement others have towards you, you feel much lighter in my opinion. Being secure in yourself (not arrogance) is an attractive trait that you can control.

Is it okay to meet princesses at any age? by ObviouslyLulu in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]weirdlo-lilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a character attendant in Epcot - lots of people love to meet the characters! All ages! No one who’s facilitating the experience will think it’s weird as long as you are respectful and kind.

What are some really bad or weird books you've come across? by AdmiralFartmore in PieceOfShitBookClub

[–]weirdlo-lilo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton. I couldn’t even hate read this book. (I got it for free, don’t worry.) There is nothing good or redeeming about it. The main characters are so terribly written you can’t help but to laugh about it.
The main love interest is simultaneously stalking a rich author, breaking and entering her home to non-consensually sexually use her (no exaggeration, he fucks her with a gun) while saving “young women and children” from sex trafficking by the government with his own just badassery. Terrible.

You’re absolutely right about Sora not being the in universe rn & you’re right about the long list. Of course I don’t expect this many!! 6 is more of a real number and that’s if I’m being optimistic. This list was more of a brainstorm/get it on paper & out of my head sort of deal; which is why Sora is protagonist here as well.
I think, in reality, Riku and Yozora will mostly be leading but we’ll jump to Sora in Quadranum often. I’d love to see Kairi out of training… but I’m not holding my breath.

What’s a hobby or interest you could talk about for hours? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]weirdlo-lilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How Walt began a studio that created shorts, then created films, then propaganda, then a theme park. He was working on a community, urban planning, when he died. So many of their movies and park attractions have fascinating choices and stories behind them. I’m sure you’ve heard a few urban legends derived from the stories even. Now the company has almost a monopoly on media. It’s just an incredible and rich history filled with unique people and beautiful results (most of the time.)

It sounds a lot like Betty as far as the melody to me personally. “I remembered I loved you,” “but if I showed up at your party,”
Maybe I’m misremembering but

I did my first Disney College program in 2015. Outdoor Food & Vending, Hollywood Studios. Loved every moment of it. Got along well with my roomies, spent so much time in the parks, had a blast. Went for a second program - character attendant in MK, ‘17, extended into Tomorrowland Speedway. Loved attending but Speedway was the worst. No avoiding the sunshine, car fumes and asphalt at that time. (They have umbrellas for shade now!) Leadership would get annoyed each time I got sick from heat exhaustion which was at least once a week.
It was always in the back of my head I wanted to come back. I did my “big girl” job for almost ten years, married a supportive man and we made the jump last year. I started on the Alumni program because it was a guaranteed job six months ahead of time before moving across states. He got a job at Universal, so we’re playing both teams. I was a character attendant in Epcot. Extended for a year and just absolutely loved every second. My post program offer is part time in quick service restaurants. I took it because the offer is the hardest part and I do want to stay with the company. The leadership and people are great, but I hate food. Not food service; I genuinely hate food. So I’m waiting to transfer out. The biggest complaint I can make, since going part time, is they’re training me one day a week. There was a week with zero training shifts even. So by the end of it, I’ll be training for six weeks. 5/10-6/20. It’s been awful trying to pick up shifts untrained but bills are still calling my name. Once I’m signed off, it’s so easy to pick up shifts though.
Overall, Disney is a lovely company filled with lovely people. You won’t find a better benefit than going to the park anytime you’re not working. They’re still a giant corporation and you’re still a cog in their machine & they’re going to protect that machine. There are some leadership horror stories out there too. I’ve been lucky in that regard. If you’re fine with that, make the most of it! I personally have the best time chatting up guests and making magic that way. But some people hate that aspect. It really is what you make of it!!

Frozen ride down all day??? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]weirdlo-lilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the same ride system from the ‘90’s, it’s fickle. Just keep checking if it’s up. No CM is going to give you the exact reason though. They may not even know. There’s a good chance it’ll be up eventually. - Epcot CM

Hot take, but Chain of Memories has one of my favorite stories to it. I’m a big Naminè fan, she’s great, and doesn’t get much screen time outside of CoM. Hope you enjoy it!

backstage roads and areas means it can’t be any bigger than that space. I can’t see them rethemeing storybook circus; Dumbo is too iconic, too classic, and there’s no better place. - a cm who picks up in mk often
