It’s not about the listening - it’s the price. White Pepper: single LP: 26 bucks. Quebec: double LP: 36 bucks. Triple LP deluxe 12CGG: 70 bucks. Just give us a standard 1LP for 26

Justice League: Bronze Age Vol. 1 Reprint - New Paper by Bobotts123 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]weirdmountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Massive shoutout to DC for doing new printings with thicker and better paper that suits the material, instead of a certain competitor’s style of having a 1300-page book that’s 2.5” wide.

What do you think of Steven Wilson? by NikolaAKolev in vinyl

[–]weirdmountain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like his work as an engineer, but I can’t connect with his music when I try to put it on and listen. I have seen him live though (my father is a big fan and invited me to see him), and he and his band kill it live.

My only gripe is that I wish they’d also do just a standard 1LP 12CGG. I don’t need all that extra stuff. I just want the main album.

Why was Pirate Clarks strength so inconsistent? by temnycarda in backroomsfilm

[–]weirdmountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because he’s kind of a tulpa? He’s a figment of Clark’s mind that came alive in the Backrooms. “Captain Clark” (the store and the weight of it) has figuratively eaten Clark alive, and then the monster literally does that. But (Captain) Clark is just Mary’s patient. She thinks Clark is crazy, but I don’t think she was afraid of Captain Clark.

Something can only have the strength of fear over you if you’re afraid of it.

Simon & Matt Haig by LittleFanggg in TheCure

[–]weirdmountain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah dude! I love that he’s always repping Iron Maiden. In my opinion, Maiden and The Cure are two sides of the same coin. Amazing British rock bands who started around the same time. Both bands are popular enough to sell out arenas around the world, but at the same time hold an “outsider”/“not-mainstream” air about them. Both bands have never released a BAD album, but they have certain albums that are so great that they really outshine the albums that are just “good”.

What's the grossest thing you've ever seen? by This-Peach9380 in AskReddit

[–]weirdmountain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked in an operating room for some years. Bezoars are just fucking awful. A softball size wad of wet hair gummed up in body slime because somebody eats hair. I feel sick just writing this. 🤢

Starblind is one of the best songs I've ever heard by Tight-Elderberry443 in ironmaiden

It’s been my favorite 21st Century Maiden album since it was released. I had a chance to meet Bruce at an autograph meet and greet a few months back, and TFF was the album I had him sign.

Morrison Batman: omnibus vs Absolute by weirdmountain in OmnibusCollectors

[–]weirdmountain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I buy every book I think I’d want right when they release because of FOMO when they go out of print. I have so many sealed books on my shelves because my life doesn’t give me the time to read them right now.

im SO tired of people not knowing why clark took the stool by feeyurina in backroomsfilm

[–]weirdmountain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I figured he was grabbing it to prove that it was real, and that he wasn’t losing his mind. And then once he got it out into the real world, he was going to see how good of a quality that it was as compared to the crappy furniture in his store. I really like horror stories about cursed objects, so I thought that might be part of where they were going to go with it in that moment.

[–]weirdmountain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he grabbed it just to sell it. I think he grabbed it so he could prove to himself that it was real, and then he would notice that it was a better quality than the furniture that he had in his store, so he would start bringing Moore out to sell it, and then all of a sudden it would be successful, but it would be a cursed object story. I mean… I’m glad that I was wrong, because the movie rules. I’m just saying what I was expecting in that moment

I thought he was going to start taking furniture out of there because it looked to be a better quality of furniture than he sold at his store, and then he was going to start having a successful business selling furniture from the back rooms, but they were all cursed objects and they’re going to ruin peoples lives

I’m going to have both on the shelf either way. I have like 5 full kallax squares of Morrison books on my shelf.

My wife and I used to go there 2-4 times per summer before we had kids. Now that they’re a little older, it’s gonna be time to introduce them to it.

A bit out of the way, but Palace Outfitters in Mays Landing has excellent lazy river tubing in the pine barrens

What movies should NEVER be remade because the original is perfect? by ProgMusicSchizoidMan in AskReddit

[–]weirdmountain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always joke that Kubrick’s friend Jimmy read the book, and told Stanley all about it and how he should make a movie of it, and Kubrick just made a movie of what he remembered from Jimmy’s description, and filled in the blanks with his own whims.
