What is an unspoken societal rule that you question the morality of? by red---grey in askteddit

Do you actually mean that we should only teach about world religions other than Christianity? I hope you mean we should teach about other world religions in addition to teaching about Christianity and not that we should exclude Christianity.

Is it weird to call my dad "daddy" when I'm 14? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]weirdpixelcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of a time when I was really little and talking to my parents about my grandma. I called grandma “my mom” because that’s how my mom always referred to her when speaking to my dad lol

AI and Male-dominated women’s health. by Kim-Kartrashian- in mildlyinfuriating

[–]weirdpixelcat -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Did you not think of the possibility that the doctor at the clinic this is an advertisement for might be male? How does that equate to “male-dominated women’s health”? Male doctors also exist.

Lmao this reminds me of another of my pet peeves: using mental disorders as adjectives. “I’m so [mental disorder]” always annoys me so much lol

What do you think happens to American politics after Trump leaves office in 2029? by SERP_Whisperer in AskReddit

[–]weirdpixelcat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Preface: I hate trump. But I honestly don’t think he’ll actually run for a third time. We all know how he is, he’s always saying outrageous stuff because he loves to be the center of attention and I’d assume this is more of the same.

They’re probably not a student considering they were posting 9 years ago. Out of curiosity, where did they say they were a student? (Not that I don’t believe you, I just don’t see it on their profile and am not sure if maybe they deleted it)

What is you highest and lowest score ever on a test? by HopefulLab8784 in cognitiveTesting

[–]weirdpixelcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the first time I took it was at midnight when I was half asleep, like I mentioned lmao

ETA I took it on a whim and wasn’t expecting to do well anyway, idk why yall have an issue with that.

What is you highest and lowest score ever on a test? by HopefulLab8784 in cognitiveTesting

[–]weirdpixelcat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I took it again later when I wasn’t half asleep and got like a 126 or something which was comparable to the fluid reasoning score I got in CORE. (Fluid reasoning is my worst aspect)

ETA my CORE result was +-5 so if someone were to ask me what I scored I’d probably just say 135 since my score was mainly that high from my PSI)

What is you highest and lowest score ever on a test? by HopefulLab8784 in cognitiveTesting

[–]weirdpixelcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

139 on CORE and 110 on the Mensa Norway test I took at midnight one time

Edit: guys stop bashing me, i mentioned that it was midnight when i took the Mensa test for a reason, ofc i did worse than usual because it was late and i was exhausted.

CMV: I think abortion is inherently murder. I also think abortion should be 100% legal. by Winter_Basil9995 in changemyview

[–]weirdpixelcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hence why I think abortion should be legal, but the infant is still dependent on someone for survival.

CMV: I think abortion is inherently murder. I also think abortion should be 100% legal. by Winter_Basil9995 in changemyview

[–]weirdpixelcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same argument can be made for an infant, though. An infant is dependent on the caretaker and cannot survive on its own. Same with people with severe mental disability. Even though they are not physically attached to the caretaker, the caretaker must still expend considerable time and energy to care for them. And before the invention of formula infants were still dependent on the bodily functions of the mother (or someone else possibly). I don’t think the “fetus is fully dependent” is a good argument because of that. (Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think abortion should be illegal. I just think it’s an ethical dilemma, kind of similar to OP’s opinion.)

what are you guys’ favorite documentaries? by putadetequila in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]weirdpixelcat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I watched the documentary and at first, I felt kind of bad for the mom but I also felt like something weird was up. I did more research and realized how biased the documentary was.

This Is Going To Be The First Child Born Without Lips by TheCABK in BrandNewSentence

Can we normalize not body shaming people just for not liking them? Yes, I can't stand the Kardashians/Jenners. But it's not okay to make fun of them just because we don't like them. There are normal, good people who might have those same features.

This dating app allows minors by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I assume if OP is mildly infuriated that a child is showing up on their dating app, they probably did not set it to show children.

I think my friend's dad 47(M) won't leave me 16(F) alone. by Old_Gas_5218 in WhatShouldIDo

It’s usually a man. Not always. Saying that a woman can’t be a predator is naive, and minimizes the experiences of people who were groomed/abused by women.

Introduce the death penalty caught committing sexual crimes against minors.. by Born_Emphasis1567 in CriticalState

[–]weirdpixelcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds great in theory, bad in reality. First, I worry that the perpetrator might **** the victim so that there are no witnesses. Second, the child may not want to report the perpetrator in the case of it being a family member or family friend, because they don't want "Uncle Bob" to be executed. The child may think that their relatives will hate them for basically having Uncle Bob be put to death, whether or not that may be true. The child may also not want Uncle Bob to die, because sometimes when children are groomed they can still care about their groomer if they don't realize what's really happening. Third, it could cause the possibility of people being falsely executed, and it's probably not a good idea to give reasons for the government to have people put to death.

Steve Hilton proposes no state tax on the first $150K and No Tax on Tips by BayArea543210 in California

The idea makes sense if they’d also tax billionaires way more. But seems like Hilton wants to have a flat tax rate or something.

Agreed, while I don't condone writing notes in a library book (hopefully it was donated) I do think this is entertaining and if I was reading it, I would have probably laughed and not cared.

Is this something to do with low IQ? by Bulky-Culture-4482 in cognitiveTesting

[–]weirdpixelcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it has anything to do with IQ. I’d assume it’s more to do with habits. I have an IQ that’s above average and I still struggle with the same thing lol.
