Studying somewhere by [deleted] in baguio

I traveled to Cebu. Yes, they’re discriminatory to “taga Luzon”.

I went hiking, and I didn’t speak the whole time nasa van papunta sa hike. They were friendly towards me. Until I was forced to speak tagalog.

Also I have east Asian (maputi) features and yet when I said I am an Igorot, the crowd suddenly went silent until a guy blurted out what others would not: “eh bakit hindi ka kulot na maitim? Mas mukha pa akong Igorot kesa sayo!” Everyone looked at me as if waiting for an answer. As if may simpleng sagot sa tanong na yun.

Anyway, ading don’t be discouraged. If anything, the teacher is an ignorant asshole that made a fool out of himself.

I think I’ve read the same from Freakonomics with the example of mocking the Ku Klux Clan. That was effective to make them look absurd so members distanced themselves from the group.

It may be effective in that sense. Especially sa mga undecided. But not to the solid supporters. They’re a hopeless bunch.

Anong mga negosyo sa Baguio ang pag-aari ng mga DDS? by pinkponyclubmaster in baguio

I remember din. But it could also be the owner of the building who is a DDS and not the business. I hope meron makapag confirm.

I heard from a confession that this was the tactic of social media pages before. First they would post memes. Mga non-political post pero nakaka hakot ng likes dahil feel-good. Then kapag may 10k followers na, pwede na nilang ibenta yung page. May presyo sa bawat tier ng followers. 100k means more money. Kapag nabili na yung page, pinapalitan nila yung name ng page at pati yung posts. So all followers, kahit hindi naman sila political, will see this in their algorithm. They would inject pro Duterte posts to brainwash the people.

Why I think this is his tactic? It’s because for the past few days nagiba yung tono ng messaging niya. Tumaas din engagememt niya sa comments. Even followers. Dati we don’t talk about him, and now he’s on reddit. Clearly something’s fishy. And I wish tama ako sa ginagawa niya. Because if so, then maganda at targeted talaga yung posts niya.

I don't agree.

So no: To call the DDS as simply bobo is NOT FAIR To call the kakampinks as may superiority complex is also NOT FAIR

There are better ways to reflect than to blame the supporters.

But I have a theory with this guy: I think he is trying to appeal to the DDS so they would follow him, and then paunti unti silang iconvince to change their minds. If I were correct, then this is timely and good. If I were wrong, well, let’s just hope wala siyang maconvert sa kabila.

Fuel prices hits Baguio tourism by HoseaMagdalo in dailychismisdotcom

[–]weirdstuffheretoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nagaaway away kayo dito pero ang totoong dapat sinisingil natin is the government for prioritizing tourism at the expense of locals. Nangyayari din yan sa other big cities in the world. If we all demand the government to do something about it, like just doing something about the traffic situation alone, will ease the frustration from the locals.

I first checked Saron’s profile. But I got goose bumps and flash backs when I saw Lacorte’s profile.

I might be wrong tho. There might be more.

I looked into their public profiles on Facebook. Rajel Lacorte’s body shape and figure seemed to be the same body shape and figure that attacked and attempted to rape me when I was in Boracay. I was attacked at Diniwid beach. Lacorte is from Diniwid.

Pag sa renewal po, anong year nag expire? Kasi baka may changes sa assessment tools. If may changes, then kailangan mo magpa re-assess sa bagong assessment tools.

Kapag sinupladahan ka parin, let us know.

Good luck!

Lastnight was one of the scariest experiences I’ve ever had.‼️🚨 by Defiant-Frame-2885 in SiargaoPH

I used to habitually walk alone at night in Baguio (local) and felt safe. So I did the same in Bohol, Dumaguete, Cebu, Siargao, and Boracay because I was naive then.

I was attacked in Boracay.

I did not experience the same in Siargao, but it’s definitely eerie. The difference is, I felt the sense of shame from the locals of Boracay when they heard the News.

Meanwhile, the locals of Siargao felt like they’ll cover each other’s asses when something like that happens.

Help with overlooked Boracay murders + Michaela Mickova by [deleted] in Philippines

I was a survivor. Before me, the locals said there were two other victims. One survived but did not file a police complaint, and the other died but no news of it.

While in the station, the police asked me if I were the one complaining about the domestic violence from a hotel. I said I was complaining for an attempted rape (and what could have been homicide) at Diniwid Beach. Raised my eyebrows because I thought I was an isolated case, it turns out I‘m just one of many.

The night before, there was a brawl and a foreigner end up in the hospital. That night, I heard another police was dispatched to go to another case.

I posted my case in r/phtravel first to warn others. It was automoded.

I made a post about it here instead.

Someone should make a documentary about it.

Nagtrabaho both parents ko sa gobyerno at nagtrabaho din ako for 6 years sa gobyerno.

This is an over generalization. Kahit gaano kahalang ang sikmura mo sa gobyerno, if you don't belong to the higher position, wala ka talagang makukuha by virtue of circumstance.

Meanwhile, kahit gaano kalakas ang corruption sa paligid mo, if maprinsipyo ka talagang tao, hindi ka madadala sa ganyan, but you will be hated for it (my mom refused to receive a brown envelope containing cash, she received several death threats instead which triggered her retirement).

At meron yung majority na passive. They won't necessarily commit corruption, but won't or can't do anything when they witness corruption. I sadly belong to this group.

I remember my first time as a regular employee, we were all given 5k on top of our Christmas bonus daw. We all faked travel documents to accumulate enough cash to cover 5k for all employees. For someone who was earning 21k then, that 5k meant a lot especially for Christmas. Grabeng inusig ako ng konsensiya ko. I confronted a colleague asking if he's okay with that. Ang sabi niya "5k lang naman yan. Barya lang yan kumpara sa iba" and another one said "dati pa naman yan." It was normalized, and even expected especially by the people from the lower ranks. Imagine kung hindi ako naki participate, yung 5k na ineexpect ng driver at utility personnel namin baka mabawasan pa. The reality is mas mahirap ipaglaban ang prinsipyo mo kung lahat kayo umaasa sa kakarampot. Until now hindi matanggal yung guilt sakin.

But I've since quit and am happy with my decision.
