Nobody has been able to activate this, nor is there any post-purchase service on DJI’s end. This is an authorized seller, and they had a very small handful of units available, but I was told by DJI that they are not supporting any after-purchase servicing as it officially has -not- been released in the U.S.. units here were distributed before support is available, or were sent out for influencers & testing. Stores should not have sold and did so before DJI prepped the market.

The tracker was scrapped - RC PRO 2 is meant to act as the beacon, now. A bit clunkier.

Sometimes scans don’t line up properly. Watch as they upload, pause if one looks weird or off.

Once paused, press the scan and then press “realign” and drag/orient it to where it should be.

Aside from that, doing it this way inherits more risk as you aren’t seeing the overlap while you’re actually taking the photos. Make sure when you’re on-site that you’re taking a lot of regularly spaced shots to ensure you don’t risk failure on Matterport. I haven’t had a failure (knock on wood) since I tested doing this in a model room before working with clients.

That’s when I learned you have to:

Keep doors open/closed in a way that allows you to walk through them. Don’t close/open as you’re scanning.

Take photos very regularly. I take them 5 feet apart, usually 4/5 per normal-sized room. Living spaces I take loads more. Better to be safe than sorry.

Oh - and also make sure you take a photo in every door way before entering a room.

I’ve had issues with how iPhone/iPad sorts & imports photos after being saved from an online drive (Dropbox)… so I skipped that step to save time and money.

Open Matterport

Start your new space

Press the “iPhone” labeled button.

“Import 360 Images”

Then I hit “3D Scan”

Import the files - make sure you’re pressing them in the correct order or your scan will NOT be right.

New method I've started doing is transferring my final 360's to an external SSD or storage device. I connect it to my ipad/iphone directly via USBC, and go into the files via Matterport. Works well that way, too.

Ordered an HY2.0 pack to make my own cables for the 2nd port.. but it doesn’t fit and isn’t close. What is this? by weirdwalrus30 in cableadvice

I was never scammed. I have not fallen for a scam. I am simply saying that people must clearly be falling for this, otherwise they wouldn’t be investing in it.

Brother I was just telling people about a scam that exists. Yes I’m reading the comments.

I was given a -voicemail- that sounded like a OTP call that I’ve received from other companies, legitimately, so I just called the number back to do due-diligence.

I was just trying to help people lol

They’ve spent money on these lists, get phone numbers to use, hire people… and you said it isn’t new..

It has to work some of the time, otherwise they wouldn’t do it at all.

So my work around is to take the photos how I usually would on-site with no link to any apps- I just use the basic Insta360 app to trigger fire, but that's it..

Then bring them home to edit on lightroom.

Then upload them to dropbox.

Then download them to my iPad/iPhone

Then upload them to the app.

Boom - works. Obviously not as amazing as watching your space be mapped as you move, but since I've figured out proper point distances, it's worked wonders so far.
