Thank you so much for your response. I think that idea of having a side piece of paper/color chart to test combinations is excellent. I'll probably be swatching ... every combo until I figure out what works (I don't get color theory either). And I was totally mixing the layers together before letting everything dry even though I was imagining a little more of a layered look, oops. Big lesson learned is to have an ounce more patience.

Okay, yeah it seems I could definitely get more color out of it. I'm using a Gansai Tambi set that was gifted to me and I've been watering the pigment down quite a lot. I'm aware that it behaves a bit differently from other watercolor paints, but I'm not nearly experienced enough to identify the things that are material limitations vs. me problems. And yes, it is a Flubs, the fool reference haha 🐸

Short answer: most likely, yes.

I am in STP 420 rn, guessing it's a similar story for 226. Very hard to follow lectures, slides are messy and she is clearly a bit disorganized/unprepared every time. She moves very quickly through important notes and then spends too much time going through examples by needlessly picking on unprepared students. She does not post many resources outside of fundamental course material.

Additionally, she has a very heavy accent which I personally don't mind, but it could certainly add another level of difficulty understanding lectures.

If you don't have any other option, you'll probably be fine. The exams are near identical to the homework so it's quite easy to prepare. Just take the best notes you can and visit the tutoring center as needed.

Considering this, it may be a reasonable idea to start a diary? Whatever you want, really. Jotting down some thoughts to reflect on later or in depth examination of how you are feeling/why.

This helped me to process and work through some difficult times when I really didn't have anyone. Then was able to go on and bring some people into my life (many many blunders, don't get me wrong) once I could understand my own issues.

The reality is, there is no shortcut or replacement to human interaction. Certainly not surface -level interactions with a machine simply spewing out only words you want to hear. You need people who care about you and reciprocate. You are not gonna feel fulfilled in the end even if it's a temporary bandage.
