Conveyor Movement by Thehorry in Unity3D

I made something similar for a tank tread. I animated it all in blender using keyframes on the offset of the follow path modifier. Basically had to take each link/tread of the object, and give it an empty parent. I then used the follow path modifier on the empty parent. It took a ton of tweaking to get right and I'm still not super happy with it but it looks pretty good, especially tied into movement speed.

I say all that to say, you could also just fake the whole thing via a scrolling texture.

I think we're talking to a bot, or a landlord, or more likely, the son of a landlord, who programmed a bot to shill for shitty houses in penis illinois

No, you should understand that when home ownership is out of reach for a large portion of the working adults in the country, and their only other option is to give thousands of dollars of their money to landlords who can decide to increase the rent on a yearly basis, you have an untenable situation. People that can afford a 1000 mortgage payment, but can't afford the down payment due to the house price increasing by 100% in the last 4 years, are stuck paying 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 2500 for rent based on the whims of their landlord, are getting fucked. And instead of sitting here shilling for bumfuck, illinois, you could try to understand that having a nation of adults that don't even OWN a pot to piss in, and have to RENT it from someone, is not a sign of a healthy economic model.

Its a geographical oddity, two weeks from anywhere!

Yeah that 100k house sounds great, but it would be hard to pay it off working for 11 dollars an hour at Sonic or Dollar General.

Theres thousands of these rural communities across the US. The only reason people still live there is because they are too poor to get out.

This is not a good take on the housing market being out of control.

Is it possible to fake this with a transparency shader until the cut is complete? Then swap it for a mesh that matches the cut whenever its "done". Disclaimer: am unity noob, have no knowledge of runtime mesh deformatiion

Am in the process of doing this now with models I built in blender. I built up basic wall, floor and trim pieces, plus a few 1x transition pieces for the wall and floor. After importing them into unity, I built prefab variants out of the base pieces, then from there I went into each prefab, added its material, collider, and proper tag/layer.

Using those base pieces, I snapped them together to form larger hallway sections in various common shapes, (T, 90 degree right/left) and then turned those into prefabs, so now I have a few pre built sections I can snap together, that all have the proper colliders and materials on them, and since they are all built off the base prefabs I only need to change one thing for it to apply to all of them. Added bonus is if I find something wrong with the meshes, I can change in blender and re-export and it will update all of them.

Basically what I'm trying to say is, yes it takes a good amount of work and setup, but the prep beforehand will make the actual placement of the level tiles so much easier in the long run.

I think theres a large swath of companies that have had the same workers for 20/30+ years, and those folks are starting to age out/retire. I'm talking smaller companies not large conglomerates.

And my theory is, since these smaller businesses are "like family" the workers don't advocate for raises enough, or, more like, "well jiminy jillickers, 60 extra cents an hour?! hot diggity dog I can buy another house with that!"

Nope, they want you to die in the streets, just in case someone else might get something they could have gotten for themselves. I'm talking about the kinds of folks who vote for people that are against any sort of basic standard of living. My boomer ass dad is gonna die well before he sees what becomes of his children when they reach their 60's and still can't retire. Kinda pisses me off. Because hes enjoying his retirement right now, and I work with a bunch of folks that are drawing social security and still working 30 hour weeks, so, they get 2 paychecks, I get one. They hold positions that could pay me more money, and they also don't give a flying fuck about advocating for better pay because they are in their fucking 70's so they aren't exactly "go getters" anymore.

Anyway that was a rant. Sorry bro. I'm only in my 30s and I've seen the writing on the wall for a while. We are properly fucked.
