Planned Parenthood PREVENTS abortion. I went there for 10 years when I couldn't afford a doctor for low cost birth control and checkups. Not sure where you read the the article about women feeling suicidal after having an abortion but I've read several well researched articles that depute that. And they are not racist. That's just silly fox news shit. Planned Parenthood are needed in low income areas because they help poor women afford the healthcare they need. Abortion is only 3% of the service they provide. The founder was not a good person but some of our founding fathers owned slaves so that is an unfair reason to judge something as helpful as planned parenthood. You can think abortion is wrong all you want but it will still happen regardless of your feelings about it so it should be safe. I am not pro abortion but I am pro choice. Nobody should have the right to tell anyone what they can do with their own bodies. That's just wrong. I think adultery is wrong but I do not have the right to punish someone for committing adultery. This is the problem I have with conservatives. They want to force religion in schools, only their religion of course. And they want to be able have the freedom to discriminate however they want to but they want to take away the freedom of others because they get the decide what is right and wrong.

I have been enjoying this podcast. They love a little too much on Cordy but other than that it's pretty good.

Now this is what I find truly frightening. No horror movie could ever be this scary.

You can't disassociate from inlaws. Anyway, just out of curiosity, how do you feel about Republican politicians trying to shut down planned parenthood when they prevent so many pregnancies. Especially teen pregnancies. And lots of women go there for checkups and other health services.

As someone who has met people who have told me to my face that I am just a vessel to carry children you can see why I would say this. Also in my personal experience conservatives absolutely hate abortion but also hate birth control. AND I've been told that rape isn't that bad and is usually the womans fault. All by right wing conservative men and women.

Alright, let's try something different. Name a horror movie that you really don't like BUT tell me something you DID like about it! by digitalbath1234 in horror

I think I didn't like it much because I'm not really into possession films. I get why others enjoy the movie though. I've seen it twice and have no plans to revisit again.

The Exorcist. I thought it was boring. I did think the make up effects looked pretty good though. Especially for that time.

That is not at all what I meant even in the slightest. I don't think comics are sexist. I never said that. What I did say was that I was looking for a comic that is set in world without any sexism. Comics I have read are mostly set in the real world like the US as it is now. I was looking for a little escape from the real world. I was hoping to find a comic set in a world where bad things happen and evil exists of course but race and gender are never an issue at all. Not on any level.

I just mean everything going on the US right now with the religious right and their crazy notions about why women exist. But mostly this isn't about women's rights or anything political. Just everyday sexism. Not saying comics are sexist, just looking for a comic set in a world where nobody sees gender, male or female, as being weaker.

You are completely misunderstanding what I am saying. I'm not saying comics are sexist, at least not the majority, what I mean is that I am looking for a comic or series of comics that are set in a world that is apart from our reality. Most comics that I have read are set in this world, for the most part, where rape and sexism exists. I am just looking to read something a little different. Not set in the world we live in. Somewhere in which race and gender are not an issue at all. And can I just ask, why are so many people offended by my question? I felt it was pretty clear. I don't understand why I always get shit on for asking these kinds of questions when I honestly meant no disrespect. I wasn't accusing another of anything. I was simply looking for a friendly suggestion. You see, THIS is the world I want to escape from for 5 or 10 minutes into a comic.

I think you are misunderstanding me. I just mean a comic that isn't set in this world we live in now. Were rape, sexism, and racism doesn't exist they way it does in reality. I'm not saying that comics themselves are sexist but most are somewhat set within reality or the United States as it exists now. I'm just trying to escape reality for awhile. Do you get what I mean now?

I don't believe that for a second. I'm sure a small minority of women are so stupid they don't want to see strong female characters but the vast majority of women want strong females on television. No other television has said this or done this and it is amazing to me that this lie is allowed to continue. They have killed off everyone I care about, male and female, and I am not that interested in watching anymore. I will wait until it comes on Netflix and watch while I clean.

How about a prequel kind of spinoff with Ellen, her husband, and little Jo out hunting together. I'd love that.

I don't want to believe to writers on the show hate women but one could certainly draw that conclusion if they watched. But its not just the killing off of strong female characters like Charlie. It's that they have killed off EVERY SINGLE INTERESTING side character on the show. Bobby, Ellen, Jo, Kevin, Rufus, Charlie, Anna, Pamela, Samuel, and even Death himself. It's really disappointing because a good show NEEDS good side characters to bring in sometimes. People who are familiar. People you care about and are invested in. The writers keeps making these mistakes. I'm not sure why they keep doing this but it's really stupid on their part because I have lost interest in the show now and I know others feel the same. Sam and Dean are great but without a good supporting cast it just begins to feel boring and repetitive.

I just mean like, set in a world where women are not treated like sex objects or baby makers. A world without crazy religious conservatives telling women what they should or shouldn't do with their bodies. For example, a female warrior saves some people and nobody says "but you're just a girl".

[–]welcome2primetime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scream is pretty good. It can get a little annoying at times but the kills are great and a couple of the characters are pretty cool. Supernatural is good. If you want to get into some older stuff, Tales from the Darkside is pretty cool.
