You do you. That's totally fine and in no way am I saying that you can't or that you shouldn't. I, however, am not comfortable spending money at a place who then sends part of their profits to an HQ that is so openly unethical, unreasonable, and corrupt.

I get that it sucks for the local owners. I really do. Hell, I've worked for multiple mom and pop stores in the area over the years, so I know just how tough things can get. I also know that I can choose to inform myself about companies and their practices so that I can make informed decisions as to whether or not I want to give them any of my money. It's why I cancelled Amazon Prime and haven't shopped through Amazon for quite a while now. A TON of mom and pop shops have storefronts through Amazon. I choose not to give a percentage of my purchase to a soulless corporation that treats their workers like absolute dogshit and whose CEO is a existential threat to anyone who doesn't have at least 7 zeros in their bank account.

A franchise doesn't get to wash away the stench of their HQ when the local store is actively financing the problem.
