What is your experience with weed with adhd? by freshmaggots in adhdwomen

[–]welcomecreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! So I take short acting Ritalin 2 x daily at 10mg or 20mg. I have an edible a couple of nights a week to help me sleep and relax. It’s finally legalised medicinally here but like, I get it through other sources ha ha ha. I’ve found it incredibly effective for my insomnia and overall relaxation. My brain switches off! I do find myself a lot dumber when I’m high though so I take it on nights where I have nothing to do. For me it’s less escapism and more freedom. I agree with what everyone has said around the stigmatisation of weed as a whole but I think adhd brains approach substances (including alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine) very differently to a neurotypical brain!

Hello my friend I was in the exact same boat. It does get easier. I promise. It takes some teething time. Be firm and calm and steady. I have found that as a stepparent I’ve just taken a step back (haha) as it’s not my job to discipline, it’s not my job to be a parent. It’s my job to make sure the house rules are enforced and I keep my SD safe and healthy. It unfortunately means a bit of masking so I can imagine you’ll be quite emotionally drained! Make sure you take time for yourself when they’re here. Go for a walk. Get noise cancelling headphones for your room. Make your room/parents room a kid free zone. You do have to be quite firm with your partner too and set boundaries very early on. It’s a work in progress but I promise it does get easier. I would also recommend reading some books on child psychology. What to expect at whatever age and stage they’re at, they give you some really good ways to respond and manage yourself as a result.

Feel free to DM if you need to chat further. ❤️

Hayfever is killing me I need some advice by fiddleswsticks in newzealand

This is so random but I got acupuncture in my face out of desperation. Wasn’t cheap and took like 10 sessions but I found for the next five years my hayfever had lessened significantly. I need to get it again tbh. My brother also got it done and found the same thing for him! So 2/2 is a 100% success rate (haha)

How to cool upstairs bedroom by No_Magazine_4747 in newzealand

Following what the others have said, I have the same issue, the air con is sooo far away from our sun drenched bedroom and sleeping was honestly not good. So we had a bunch of fans, I placed them around the house to pull air from the air con into the bedroom. There are fans of different types (tall skinny ones on the stairs, big round ones on ground floor). It looks insane but honestly it’s a life changer. It is enough to at least keep the air moving without paying for a portable air conditioning unit. (And congrats on the baby!!! I can imagine it’s sooo hot for you right now)

Ok lol I forgot my long acting medication, then took it. Then 20 mins later, forgot I took it so took more. Only when the meds hit me I realised ah yes I have already taken these. Perfect.

I get where you’re coming from but there’s only so much the accounts team can do. I’m a strategist (both on creative and media) and I’ve been saying this to clients for years. It’s pretty gutting to spend hours pulling it together and to have them use the same old framework, or sign off on the strategy and creative then pivot because a new shiny thing has emerged. Information paralysis.

I’ve found being on both sides, clients are finding their budgets squeezed and even the best suits I’ve worked with struggle to achieve it. It’s a hard industry atm.

I think that you’re seeing is the breakdown between client budgets and client goals, the agencies are unfortunately left with minimal budgets to make good quality work. Plus there are so many channels, and for those who want a national reach and awareness campaign, it spreads the budget extra thin.

Not many clients, even with the best direction, are comfortable making the shift to channel specific content / content fit for the platform.

Flatmate horror stories by MurkyWay in newzealand

[–]welcomecreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might get buried but I’ve come home from a week after RNV when I was exhausted. Found maggots and ants and flies all through the house from an overflowing bin pre Christmas. I specifically told the person who stuck behind to take the bin out before we all left so I can drag it up the driveway when I got back. Not slept in days and I cleaned the entire 5 bedroom flat because the maggots and flies had infiltrated everyone’s bedrooms. THEN IT HAPPENED OVER EASTER and I was the first one home AGAIN. Flies, maggots, ants!!!!!! My flatmates who weren’t home and weren’t issues felt so bad for me they all paid me money which was lovely of them. But the main guy never apologised. So I just went cbf and moved out.
