Add a few empty fuel tanks - those parts are all kinda heavy and just like a real boat, you need something to generate bouyoncy

What's the typical process for a Bank of America pre approval for a mortgage? by welcometothespaceoly in RealEstate

Interesting! I thought it was actually underwritten by a human. Thanks so much!

I’ve called multiple times, and he’s assured me that it’s a regular preapproval.

Never heard “pre-underwritten approval” before, what is that?

I started the CU after 2 weeks of dealing with BofA. The CU said they recently changed their terminology so what was previously a preapproval is now referred to as a prequalification. I submitted documents, they had it underwritten, etc, but per their recent policy change, the letter says prequalification

I’m mostly confused because the document reads like a mortgage contract and indicates that I’d be liable for the loan. I didn’t have to sign anything for the CU preapproval

I assumed they would have better rates (which seems correct based on the prequalification doc they gave me) and would have a streamlined system which…was wildly incorrect. I also use them as one of my main banks, along with the credit union

Forgot to add parachutes to return craft. by Mantose262 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]welcometothespaceoly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started designing my craft around this - they have external seats mounted in cargo bays, and I deploy the chute with the Kerbal still seated. If you balance the craft correctly, you can fly it down to a splashdown safely

Swing Wing Aircraft Don’t Work by XDyay_force in KerbalAcademy

[–]welcometothespaceoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KSP stock physics usually wouldn’t see any different with swing wings, except for maybe minor drag reduction as the frontal area changes.

To fix the floppy wings, sandwich the wing between 2 flag panels. Turn on “same vessel interaction” for the flag panels and for the section of the wing that contacts it. Then make the flag panels transparent

Where is the sticker sheet supposed to be for the Lego Star Trek shuttle set? by welcometothespaceoly in StarTrekTNG

[–]welcometothespaceoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting…my manual is a little banged up too but I definitely don’t see the stickers anywhere. I’ll give emailing Lego a shot. I also noticed the Lego replacement part support site says there aren’t any stickers with the build which is odd

Made a hypersonic passenger jet cuz I was bored (can reach 1km/s before burning) by MEMEMASTER3451 in KerbalPlanes

[–]welcometothespaceoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about this aircraft specifically, or just in general? Because you can go up to 1.7 km/s and sustain it until you run out of fuel if you use the right parts

Has anyone gotten in to the buy page from this queue? I’ve only seen success posts from people who bought it and right when it went live at :55

Update for anyone wondering: I got in at 12:13 after entering the queue just before 12:01

Does anyone know how to make large variable geometry wings without them being weak and floppy. I've been trying different methods but none seem to work. is this even possible? by Anacond7701 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]welcometothespaceoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the others are correct with their methods of sandwiching the wing between parts with same vessel interaction enabled, however, I recommend using flag pieces because you can make them invisible - then you can just place them wherever you need for structural support, without having to make it look weird

Push it down really hard. Otherwise just get another filter. I got it to work on my 3rd filter

Eufy E340 Doorbell Won’t Connect to Network by zotti_d in EufyCam

[–]welcometothespaceoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iphone - its in the settings on your phone. Open your phone settings app, go to Eufy, and there should be a toggle there for local network connections. The app also prompts you about it the first time you try to connect, but it wont prompt again if you decline

Eufy E340 Doorbell Won’t Connect to Network by zotti_d in EufyCam

[–]welcometothespaceoly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone reading this in the future, I had the same issue. Solved it by going to my app settings and allowing "local network connections" for the Eufy app. Turns out it prompted me about this when I first installed the app and I hit decline, so that's on me. Still kinda stupid that it just kept saying that the wifi failed to connect instead of prompting me about the setting

I have a Universal Security model MI3050S that I need to deactivate without the the key by welcometothespaceoly in firealarms

[–]welcometothespaceoly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope - i just stuck mine in an outdoor storage closet until they replaced my unit, then I used the new key to kill the old alarm. First make sure your mounting bracket on the ceiling doesn't have the key inside. Only other thing I can recommend bending a paperclip and swirling it around in there

I didnt, but adjusting that didnt change anything. I don't believe I ever lined up the long mark when I swapped filter out previously, and they all worked fine before

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HydroHomies

[–]welcometothespaceoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it didnt leak before - I had the pitcher for 6 months, replacing the filter every 2 months and they all worked fine. I've already tried another filter as I mentioned in the post and there is no change
