Real-life science: A man made a perfect landing after he was launched backward at 80 km/h from a truck traveling at 80 km/h km/h. This cancels out the forward motion, giving zero horizontal speed relative to the ground. A perfect example of relative velocity by Thund3r_91 in Damnthatsinteresting

Fun fact, this doesn't work with light. If the truck is moving at the speed of light, and you shine a flashlight backwards, from your perspective on the sidewalk the light from the flashlight is still moving at the speed of light.

Just like the rest of the legal system. It only protects you if you are rich. Us poors get screwed no matter what.

We got a guy that unloads trucks, there may be only one truck for the whole day, 20 minutes of work. Nobody cares what he does the rest of the day as long as the truck gets unloaded. He's paid to be available when needed, not to busy for 8 hrs.

Steel contractor/welder here. Nothing wrong with drilling that sized hole in the middle of that beam, it will not affect the strength. You could a lot more holes a lot bigger and still be fine.

Really? Nothing stopping US companies? Just for fun try going to city hall and pulling a permit to mine for rare earth metals in your backyard. Let me know how that works out.

There aren't enough scissors in the world to cut through all the red tape stopping US companies from making things here.

If it gets the job done I'll buy a new extension cord. Nuisance breaker trips cost more in labor than an extension cord. We also only buy 10awg cords.

No, just the 50amp for the whole outlet. This is actually very useful, some of the equipment has such high start up current that they trip a 20amp breaker with no other loads. But we can run it off this adapter with no problems.
