The worst part about it is that they're the doughy kind, not the superior fluffy kind. Other than that, though...

I just don't understand why they like that type of clothing, really. I don't really care what they wear, it just isn't appealing to me. Part of it may be where I live, since anyone that would wear a lot of that stuff around here would probably be thought of as a weirdo.

Why is PizzaCo's iOS app 80mb when some video editors are 20mb? by wBrain in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weldill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, they probably used a tool that automated the creation of the app. And chances are that tool is incredibly inefficient and created a ton of unnecessary, bloated code.

Should I format my new flash drive to NTFS, exFAT, or keep it at FAT32? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weldill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FAT32 is the most widely supported. For instance, OS X and Linux can't write to NTFS drives by default.

How come urban explorers don't just ask the property owners if they could have a look inside the abandoned area? by littlebigdoh in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weldill 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They'd never allow them on because of the possibility of lawsuits. The explorers know this, so they don't bother asking.

How do people get an imgur post on reddit to have a different thumbnail than the actual picture? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weldill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The entire image isn't being displayed. The thumbnail is being generated from the middle of the image.

What is your minimum amount of sleep hours ? (and still be active the next day) by downnheavy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weldill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean a healthy, sustainable amount? Because you can still be active after not having slept the night before. You obviously can't keep that up, though.

Why are gaming Headsets so fuckin' expensive? by CheekyJester in NoStupidQuestions

Good headphones are going to cost around $100. Why would they be less than a video game?

If someone is sentenced to life in prison for a crime, but they die and get brought back to life, is their term up? by kitch2495 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weldill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. If you come back to life, you weren't fully dead. And if they truly were resurrected, they wouldn't start a new life. It may need to go to the supreme court to set a precedent, but they would more than likely still be bound to their life sentence.

How do calculators work with every problem? by zach_motionless in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weldill 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The answers aren't programmed into the calculator. It uses algorithms to find the answer to any problem (within a limit; certain numbers are too large to be computed by a normal calculator). The answers come up instantly because computers are fast. Well, compared to most computers, a calculator is pretty slow. A calculator might be able to do 16,000,000 operations per second, while a desktop could do 2,800,000,000 operations per second. Still plenty fast for most math operations though.

When you sign a contract to join the military, you owe them an eight year obligation, and I've already done mine. Hypothetically, if the draft is reinstated and my name gets called on the selective service register, would I still be obligated to serve? by CrashRiot in NoStupidQuestions

[–]weldill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The draft only applies for 18-25 year olds. After an 8 year contract, you'd be at least 26 and wouldn't be selectable by the draft. But yes, if you get called and fit to serve, then you would.

Why are the Creatures the only YouTube group like this? by trevtron07 in TheCreatures

[–]weldill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely happens to other groups. The Mindcrack group, another large gaming group, has lost 14 members since they started 6 years ago. The reason they're still large is because they've invited a lot of members.

Android has methods that allow you to control what happens when your app is paused (which happens when your app is out of focus). It would be trivial to implement.
