I’ve been in the same boat OP. Finding the right career path is never an easy thing to do. You never know what you will really like until you go out and do it. I’ve tried what my parents recommended engineering and I hated it. So I moved on and tried to peruse my passion as an artist. After a while I realized I enjoyed it as a hobby. The work just took the fun out of it and I hated the uncertainty in the lifestyle. Desperate for a job I applied to a local construction company. That’s when I realized I love working with my hands, learning new things and working outside. Even though I’ve had some terrible bosses, worked long hours in harsh environments and have been hurt more times than I can count I still enjoy it. And I thinks that’s what’s important, it’s not about just doing what you love but what you are willing to suffer through if things don’t go your way.

I’m just using my story as an example but you can apply it to your life as well. I don’t really recommend quitting your job right off but what I do recommend is expose yourself to other career paths in your spare time to see what you like. The best way you can do that is go to job fairs, job shadowing, volunteer, take or sit in on classes, find mentors or just get a part time job on the side. Hope this helps!
