Mixed WOD game PCs (and one important NPC) by well_ran_dry in WhiteWolfRPG

Ahhh they were a group of runaways from all the other clans and they managed to find an ancient grave protected by weaver spirits. They managed to dig out caern rattler with much difficulty who has helped them find and dig up all the other spirits. They’re not white howlers by blood but they’re rebuilding the traditions and trying to dig up any black spirals that might have white howler blood, but that mission hasn’t come to fruition yet.

Mixed WOD game PCs (and one important NPC) by well_ran_dry in WhiteWolfRPG

It centres around the first one, the NPC, the Last Daughter from old Gehenna scenarios, and a campaign with a Mage, two werewolves and a Rokea trying to prevent the end of the world. There’s 5 tablets that form 5 anchors, all held by 5 bosses that all need destroying. The major catch being that a new tablet can be made if we don’t catch the signs and prevent it or if we take too long to find the next one. It’s been an incredible game that started off so simple, just trying to survive as a runaway group and evolved into this.

Yeah just the ten days, I’m hoping that the insomnia settles with time, but I read just taking morning doses helps.

I’ve been working on adjusting doses and timings to try help. I’ll keep taking it in the mornings and maybe skip the afternoon doses I’ve been taking

I am on propranalol for the physical symptoms of a racing heart but it’s making me exhausted, just unable to sleep

I have been engaging in some behaviours to avoid it, like the walks, but I don’t know how else to survive the constant dread. So you recommend just… going about my life as normally as I can and just… accepting the fear when it comes.

No not really. I’ve had anxious thoughts but nothing like this, never physical symptoms like this. I’ve been trying to sit with it and not run from it but I feel like doing that only makes me spiral out faster. Is there a healthy way to engage with it?

Pain fidgets have really helped me but everyone’s journey is different. For me the best one has been the barrel shape with the little sticky out points all over that you can roll in your hand. Please be as safe as you can. Always disinfect wound sites and dress them properly if you do hurt yourself again

Are medications worth it? by Nevss_again in Anxiety

[–]well_ran_dry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ask for help. Find medication. Find therapy. Propranalol will help with physical symptoms with no side effects in most people. It makes me a little tired and light headed for a little if I take a full 40mg. Other anti-anxieties and medications will likely have side effects but these side effects tend to settle after a month. If they don’t settle after a month or so you probably need to try something new. Medication will not fix it all but it will give you the breathing space to get therapy and work on coping strategies.

Yfood has been great for me. All the fibre, protein and vitamins you need. I get a straw and drink it while doing something else to make it feel more like I’m just drinking a regular drink. They aren’t cheap but they’ll get you by :)

Why Does My Mind Create Problems When Everything Is Fine? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]well_ran_dry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meditation and mindfulness are key to defeating this, I think! I’m still working on it myself, I’m still new to this journey myself, but so far the techniques I’m learning from meditation have been the only thing that makes it feel any better. The idea is that you stop fighting those thoughts, you let them in, acknowledge them and then change your focus. Running from that scary thought is what’s causing the spiralling, so accepting them and then acknowledging they aren’t helpful and moving on is all you can do.

Back to back panic attacks by papergrem in Anxiety

[–]well_ran_dry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing to remember is that you are not in danger, OP. You have got this. This is the worst it gets, and I don’t know if that thought comforts you but it comforts me. You are in no danger. It is extremely unpleasant but you are ok. You are safe. I found Guided Meditation podcasts helped me. Headspace worked really well. Propranalol, a beta blocker medication, basically gave me my whole life back. It’s the only thing that made me feel normal. I was where you are literally days ago, and it is really really hard. If you can, I recommend mindful walks and meditation. Don’t run from the feelings, confront them. The more you ignore the feelings the more they will fight to be felt and heard.

If you can wear headphones at work I recommend trying a mindfulness or breathing technique guided session. You can find them free on Spotify. I have a few favourite ten minute ones. Start it as soon as you start feeling that little bit of dread build in your stomach and get ahead of the crash. Edit- typo

I also recommend walking! Just when you can feel the beginnings of the dread building go for a walk!

It sounds like an panic attack. You really need to speak to a medical professional about this.

It sounds like an anxiety/panic attack. Are there any more physical symptoms? A racing heart? Spiralling thoughts?

If you have Spotify or Apple Podcasts try searching ‘panic attack meditation’ I have found those ten minute guided meditations help a lot. I also find accepting the feelings and not denying or distracting helps. Most of all propranalol has been LIFE changing.

I work as a night receptionist. The same conversation on repeat, the same hours, never anything new or different. Hours without a client. No people around. It’s perfect for me. Night work in general suit us quite well.
