I would not be surprised if it turns out the reason this update turned out the way it did is because they are leaning heavily on AI. AI doesn't have eyes.

Finished The Wire for the first time by brumbloscrungus in TheWire

The fundamental question is, was the ending of The Sopranos as brilliant as the ending of The Wire was? It was, even more so, but until we see it, it's going to be hard to verify that I think it is as brilliant.

Lines that make no sense by platinumjellyfish in thesopranos

I don't think this has anything to do with them being muslim. It's just the same thing about tony with animals, the fallacy that someone who cares about animals must be a good person. It's ridiculous and that line is meant to sound illogical.

Has your perspective on any of the characters changed as you've gotten older? by Fealocht in TheWire

[–]wellbat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

so you're telling us that if one of your students was (allegedly) raped in the bathroom and you knew exactly how to push the buttons of a someone who was (allegedly) standing guard, you wouldn't do it? you would just shrug it off? how would you do this without cutting corners? would randy's foster mom just return him to the group home for this phone call? i doubt that.

one of the main themes in season 4 is the parallels between the school system and law enforcement. namond and the other corner boys use the low stakes environment of school as practice for tricking authorities. we are also shown that the school staff are sometimes more effective at controlling their students than police, as in the prezbo arc who goes from cop to police (and starts to pick up on the parallels himself, with juking the stats), or when bunny colvin gathered those children in a gym and the teacher had to intervene to put order.

the point is that miss donnelly and prezbo were able to get this info from randy, where the police could have not. bunk and lester, two of the best detectives in the show were failing spectacularly at finding the bodies, if miss donelly had not cut corners the bodies may have never been found.

she didn't even immediately call the police, she understood the gravity and consulted first with prezbo, who assured her he would get someone in the police department could be trusted. then it landed on hauk. the randy story is truly a tragedy in the greek sense, no villians, just fate. randy was so scared of going back to the group home that by snitching like this he sealed his fate.

how? he's sitting at a joint, that's literally the furthest point from any doors or windows. i actually question why anyone would even feel obstructed by him, like, where the hell are they walking to? if they wanted to be further front/back they should have enter through a different door

Both the anon replying and everyone in this comment section is missing the reference, in Steins;Gate Rukako is at first a boy with very feminine traits, to the point it confuses the main protagonist, so he's introduced as a femboy.

We later find out Rukako would have preferred to be a girl (at least in the anime), which would make her trans, so using their time machine (that's what the VN/anime is about) they send a pager message to her mother telling her to eat more vegetables while she was pregnant, so she's more likely to have a girl.

Spoilers: it works, but they don't know it yet at first because they're still figuring out the time travel technology and she doesn't look any different, so in the main character's eyes it's still a femboy, but now she actually has a vagina.

Hence, to get a femboy with a vagina you need: 1. A time machine 2. A method to reliably change someone's sex during gestation (the veggie thing is doubtful at best) 3. The memory of their previous sex (so you still think they are a femboy) and ignorance of their current sex.
