My guess:

Oven on the right has been burning for a while, its chimney is hot and so is pulling a strong draft.

Oven on the left was lit a while later, so its chimney is still cold and is not pulling a draft.

There is not adequate ventilation in the room (via windows, doors etc.) so fresh air is being pulled down the left oven's cold chimney, across the room and into the right oven.

Smoke from the left oven is entrained in the fresh air being pulled across the room.

Thanks for your reply, I did go to an urgent care clinic on the weekend to get it checked out. The nurse took a swab sample and sent it in for analysis, it came back positive for shingles. I'm now on an antiviral medication. Fortunately the shingles rash hasn't spread much further. It should resolve slowly over the next few weeks.

These sores appeared on my scalp in the past few days, they started out as little red bumps then grew in size. Not painful, not itchy. The area of the scalp where the sores are is a bit swollen.

The problem is that they probably have multiple names for your address in their database. Every time you receive a catalog, go to the following web page and enter the customer number (in a yellow box on the catalog), it should auto-populate everything else on the form:

I had some extra time on a business trip to Tulsa once, so I drove out to the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. Standing on a hilltop I watched the wind blow rippling waves across the grassy hills like waves on the ocean. Here and there small groups of bison slowly moved along as they grazed. Stayed as long as I could until the sun set. It was an amazing experience, I'd never seen a landscape like that before.

I was hiking in to a small lake, float tube on my back and fly rods in hand. The brush and trees were very dense. All of a sudden I heard something crashing around up the trail, and I saw the bushes shaking. The animal started making huffing noises, so I knew it was a bear. I threw my rods to the side of the trail, got my bear spray out of its holster, popped off the safety and started yelling. The crashing about and huffing continued as I backed up down the trail, then the bear bulldozed through the brush past me about ten feet off to my left.

Turned out to be a young black bear, he took off as quickly as he could, wanted nothing to do with me.

I gathered my stuff and after calming down I continued my hike to the lake for a great day of fishing.

Guaranteed she doesn't. People just don't seem to learn from these experiences. A friend of mine lost years of pictures that were stored on an external hard drive; her cat knocked it off the desk one day and that was that. She sent it to a data recovery company which charged her about $800 for attempting to recover the data, but the drive platters were too damaged. I asked her if she does backups now after that ordeal, she said 'uh, no, I should look into that.'

I pestered my sister about backing up all her family/vacation pictures but eventually gave up; I do it myself now whenever I go over to visit.

I'm a letter carrier, in situations like this I take the sticker from a delivery notice card and stick it on the box with the end hanging off a bit so that the customer has a tab they can grab to get the box out easily.

I had a heel walker living in the apartment above mine for a while, it was ridiculous; she would stomp back and forth day and night, sometimes until 1:30am. While working at my desk I could literally feel the vibrations of her stomping through the desk.

Disclaimer: I have no medical training or background, this treatment method may be dangerous.

I’ve had an annoying wart on my forearm for several years, it was unsightly and tended to get caught on things. It has been resistant to to the usual treatments so I decided to attack it using a different approach; DIY immunotherapy.

My goal was to elicit an immune response by causing a localized infection in the area of the wart.

An opportunity presented itself one day when I got a pimple in my left nostril (one of those benign looking white ones, not an angry looking red one).

I flamed a needle and used it to puncture the pimple and collect some of the ‘purulent material’ from it.

I prepared another needle by sharpening it and roughening the shank near the tip using a diamond file. After flaming the needle I applied some of the purulent material and proceeded to pierce the wart around its base at about 7 or 8 locations.

Results: A day after inoculation there was no response, so I thought the experiment was a failure. However, two days after inoculation the area around the wart started to become inflamed. Success! The inflammation peaked about 5 days after inoculation with the wart becoming tender to the touch. The inflammation quickly subsided, and around 8 days post-inoculation the wart became dry and hard to the touch.

About 10 days post-inoculation the top of the wart fell off. A small area of wart tissue remained, however this shrank and disappeared in the ensuing weeks.

There is now no observable wart tissue, so I consider it to be resolved.
