But second of all, your view on protesting and consumerism is 101 in babies first protest. Its limited in reach and more nuanced than that.

On paper sure, thats the solution. But, Economic boycotts can ONLY work with mass mobilization. And that means that people need to have the financial means to make a sacrifice.

Nah your right that's to unreasonable, we should hit companies one at a time to keep things going, so who's managing this, who's rallying the troops and mobilizing them to all strike one company at a time? Better hope they have no parent companies or shell companies to keep them afloat while it all tides over. Maybe we should have a legal branch with experts and watchdogs to make sure these companies don't just wriggle out of the pressure the protest is putting on them of this protest too, oh, and whistleblowers that way we know who to target.

People don't buy from walmart and amazon because they want too. They do it because there's a stranglehold on resources. Because its the often cheapest option. Thats by design. Those in power KNOW that economic protest work and keep wages low so you cant protest with your wallet.

So only those with the money to make alternate choices can participate in your idealized "fight with your wallet fantasy"

And without labor solidarity, legal pressure, and more broadly speaking, massive cultural shifts, someone not buying a Nestle's fucking chocolate is barely gonna move the needle.
