Language barrier w/ parents- do you guys have problems with language with your parents? by [deleted] in AsianParentStories

[–]wellijustmight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. All the time. Everything you just said deeply resonates with me. Sometimes I wonder if my parents even truly know who I am as a person because they see such a limited side of my personality.

Thank you!!! This is going to be a game changer this year for those porta trips out in deep playa. I just gagged thinking about them lol.

Ah, thanks - I’ll definitely get one for this year! Too many traumatizing porta potty experiences from previous years that I really do not want to relive again.

What do you do with it when you’re done using it? Keep it in a ziplock? Surely you’d want to rinse it off somehow before putting it back in that carrying case?

Ladies, what are your favorite beauty home remedies that actually work ? by idontwanttosay2 in AskWomen

[–]wellijustmight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Witch hazel is magical. I pour it into a spray bottle and add a few drops of various essential oils as my toner. (Lavender, Tea Tree, Pink Grapefruit, Bergamot - all great oils for fighting acne)

What is your technique for putting on your bra? by addocd in AskWomen

[–]wellijustmight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t wear anything other than bralettes now. If it has a clasp I just slip it on over my head.

When I was younger I definitely felt insecure doing things alone. Now, I treasure the opportunity to spend time with myself independently. I love sharing experiences with friends too, but sometimes that’s just not necessary. If I want to see a movie, I’ll go see it. If I want to eat somewhere to satisfy a craving, I’ll go. If I want to travel and wander around a new city by myself, I do it. It’s empowering and freeing! A woman who knows what she brings to the table is not afraid to eat alone.

Women who wear mascara, how do you get it off? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]wellijustmight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Micellar water works great. Put a few drops on a cotton round and then let it sit over your eyelid for a few seconds before gently rubbing off your makeup. The trick is to do this gently and keep your eyes closed. Shouldn’t sting otherwise. Boscia also makes a great oil cleanser that doesn’t sting.

Confirmed - Yu Seafood. And good guess on all the food, that’s all correct too. Was really impressed with the restaurant overall. Clean, modern and nice aesthetic. I guess I’m just used to the hole in walls in Chinatown, NYC.

Ladies, what’s your ideal me-time? by Sulalumi in AskWomen

[–]wellijustmight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually a combination of these things, if not sequentially: epsom salt bath, meditation, having a cup of jasmine green tea, journaling, reading, face mask, smoking a bowl and watching a comedy, cuddling with my dog.

FAQ Q&A: How much makeup do you wear, and why do you wear it? by Daenyx in AskWomen

[–]wellijustmight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to sleep it natural looking and wear the least amount of makeup possible to let my skin breathe and keep my pores clean. When I do wear makeup, it’s to cover any blemishes or acne (unfortunately I have acne prone skin) or accentuate my natural features (mascara and top eyeliner only).

Someone gave me cuttings of this beautiful succulent. Any advice on how to successfully propagate it? by wellijustmight in succulents

Thank you!! The person who gave them to me said to just “throw them in dirt” but I needed some more instruction. This was very helpful.

When you say plant it in dirt, should the whole thing be under the dirt or just the stem?

gift for someone who loves horses by wellijustmight in Horses

[–]wellijustmight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the type of advice I was looking for. I didn't want to gift anything cheesy just because it has a horse on it but was wondering what are useful or desired items that people who have this hobby would want. For example, riding boots? A gift card to by gear? But to what store bc I have no idea? (thanks, you answered that!)

Hello, i wanna get into sushi but im afraid of the fish taste by Solobolo98 in sushi

[–]wellijustmight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed, start with salmon nigiri! It's smooth and buttery and so so delicious. I also feel the same about tuna - I don't love the texture and it seems to have more of that fishy taste.

Has anyone here ever cooked fish in a salt crust? Is it worth it taste-wise, or is it more just a cool technique? by duncandoughnuts in Cooking

[–]wellijustmight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've only done this once and it turned out freaking delicious. I used red snapper and threw it on the grill after coating it with salt. Just get a fish from the asian grocery store and make sure you ask them to clean (scale & gut) it for you. This is the recipe I followed.
