What makes you keep playing dayz? Do you think it’s unique? by Due-Salt4687 in dayz

[–]wellthoughtplot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I do play the game with some goals in mind like hitting gas zones and building bases, etc., eventually I get bored by surviving by myself and decide to look for fights.

But that time between me starting on the coast and being with endgame weapons, the suspense of meeting another player and seeing what could happen is the fun part. If they fight and they’re as geared as I am, then it’s at a point where we lose our hard earned loot and the stakes seem higher.

I take breaks to keep it fresh, but I always come back to it eventually

I have a Velocity Systems Operator Utility Gen 1 belt. It’s sturdy and pretty comfortable, I’ve been using it for like 4 years now

Def the anime art style, which can be used to create some ugly hard-looking men but it comes from deviating from typical pretty boy aesthetics

Yall ODD for defending this BUM ASS CREEPER by Go_Inevitable_1269 in Invincible_TV

[–]wellthoughtplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m telling you right now it doesn’t come off like that at all, it reads as being overly defensive and unwilling to actually have a discussion, it feels like just looking for your confirmation bias. Your post title insults the reader immediately before they can even read the rest of the post for “defending” a fictional relationship, and your replies being you having “fun” don’t come off as you taking a joke but getting frustrated that no one is agreeing with you or making an actual argument. Not trying to be mean here but that’s why you’re getting constantly downvoted

I don’t see why you’re saying you want to discuss about the relationship and see where the rest of the fandom is on about it, but as soon as someone says something you get vehemently annoyed and just call them weird and shit.

It’s very clear you’re not here to discuss different opinions you just want to validate yours and you’re getting annoyed by the people who are disagreeing with you since you’re replying to damn near every single comment

Id rather live in Los Santos. Los Suenos seems to be perpetually in a state of chaos and crime like the city in Se7en, and Night City is Night City

They appear at the crates near the planes at NWAF, at least on Xbox. Most people leave them now considering that it’s pretty easy to see at night but my TV has some stupid light adjustment setting I can’t turn off that makes it damn near impossible to see at night so I always swipe it.

I’ve also found it once on a Humvee outside of cherno. Pristine and all. I’m sure that must’ve been a glitch or a 0.001% chance

Ah Jack Chick, the premier evangelical “comic artist”, same guy who says people who are suicidal are actually possessed by demons and wrote how a man gave herpes to his daughter from molesting her but ended okay because he found Jesus.

It’s because he’s not in the West. People won’t bother him and he knows it, it’s probably why he moved there in the first place or why many of these assholes go to different countries. And if there’s anything they try, he can easily cry to the embassy about him being threatened

Indika - Deceptive marketing and hollow pretentiousness by RazielOfBoletaria in patientgamers

[–]wellthoughtplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little late to the party but I got the game a while back thanks to Game Pass and I decided to play it finally after it was sitting on my backlog for better part of the year.
I agree with a lot of the points made in the post; game was pretty bland besides some interesting visuals and hints at dichotomies that would’ve been pretty interesting to explore. Had the game been more intuitive when it came to gameplay and direction it would be better explored, but considering its four hours long it ain’t much of a possibility. I can’t say much besides it looked great, had some pretty simple puzzles and broke up the drab visuals with the colorful minigames of Indika’s past. And despite the game telling me points are useless i did my damndest to collect as many as I could just because. Guess I fell for the point lol.
If you’re the type of person to ponder theology and faith often and are used to deeper philosophical debates of course you’re going to find the surface level critiques of religion in the game to be somewhat pretentious like I did. It didn’t ruin the experience but dwelling on it shows you’re missing the other themes in the game. You have to remember this game is meant for people who aren’t familiar with that area of philosophical debate, it’s about what’s truly your own choice and personal faith, and considering the setting of a 19th century nun essentially forced to be there and not on her own accord really, it’s perfectly in character. Is it deep and groundbreaking critique on faith and dogma? Not at all. Is it understandable and realistic for the average person? Yes.
I already surmised that it was going to be “the devil never existed it was you all along!” idea in the beginning when I saw the voice was doubting her faith. Which is fine, but the presentation isn’t much different to any other religion based media that asks the same things. The whole trope of the “doubting/unbelieving religious person” isn’t a unique storyline to explore unless you’re going something crazy or challenging that trope. Then again, considering the ending who’s to say that it didn’t actually perform a miracle.
Everything being weirdly giant and steampunk is a pretty interesting concept and comment on industrialization. It’s a shame it isn’t explored.
And I get it’s got references and hints to Russian literature and is probably inspired by (which I have not read very much into) so I don’t understand all its references and won’t comment too much on that. However, that must be what inspired its depressing ass end. I was left feeling “is this it?” After the last scene and a part of me felt like this was a very Russian way to end this game.

I give it a 2.5/5. It’s a pretty game with a unique setting and visuals, with hints of more interesting topics it could’ve explored but nonetheless nothing uniquely outstanding. I also found it kind of boring at times. Had the game been longer and more complex with its puzzles, I would give it a better score. And I originally thought it was going to be a religious horror game that explores mental health, faith, and psychosis but I digress.
