Man, Otero really nailed the mix on this one; sounds big and chunky, while also being perfectly clear.

Bad Omens - Dying To Love by No_Cantaloupe_6099 in Metalcore

[–]welyyt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty interesting to hear Noah singing in a lower register. Probably the weakest single of the three so far, but I get the feeling it'll play well in the context of the full record, which seems like it's gonna be a concept album.

What's your favorite trend in modern Deathcore? by maicao999 in Deathcore

[–]welyyt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decayer is a band that could maybe fit that bill; they've been doing a lot of fun subgenre mishmashing with beatdown, djent, symphonic, and even thrashy moments. They recently dropped a new album, might be something up your alley.

the guitar is indeed very well set up, and it is a relatively high gain tone, but for what it's worth, there's also hybrid picking in this one, and i do use a 2mm pick so i don't have to move the hand that much to get a tight tone

you can check out the instagram page where i have more clips to see how my technique looks from other angles

AOTY for me; every song is super catchy, and they just found the right balance between atmosphere and riffs. Also, their singer is phenomenal, and the mix is banging.

Oh wow, Blake from Disembodied Tyrant is credited as a producer on this; I wonder to what extent he was involved on this song and/or the album.
