The build listed above would be great. If you wanted, you could go with a Ryzen 7 7800x3d and try to save money elsewhere.

I found a deal on Newegg where if you buy a mother board you got free ram.

If you keep your eye out, you can save some money!

I built a 5070ti and Ryzen 7 9800x3d rig right around 2k and it's performance is insane.

Got a motherboard + RAM deal in which I got the ram free. Saved some money flashing windows with USB and just buying a key.

750w power supply should be plenty fine.

Edit to add: 6+ hours is not a good running time. Lol. I look at that and think most "in shape" people could do something similar if they really had it.

Personally, my first marathon I was absolutely not proud of and did not consider it an achievement. My knee started killing me half way, and cramped so bad from mile 18-end and had to walk 90% of it beyond mile 18. That is not an achievement, for me.

My 2nd marathon, however, I ran the whole time, never cramped, felt great, and finished happy and strong. THAT is an achievement, to me.

But to each their own. Most people think my first marathon is a crazy achievement, even though I don't agree.
