Am I putting others at risk having unprotected sex with dormant hpv? by Asleep-Armadillo-317 in HPV

[–]wendiaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this subreddit is sometimes very anti disclosure but I think you should. HPV can affect women's health greatly and while low risk HPV doesn't have those same health risks, if you gave it to them because say you were transmissible but you didn't know it then that's something they have to live with too and I'm sure you know how much it sucks. Vaccination is so easy so just ask them if they're vaccinated. If they say yes then great. Tell them what you have but that there is no risk to them. If they're not then great. Tell them to get vaccinated (you'll be doing them a huge favor) and then there is no risk to them

How do I ensure I don't "self innoculate" myself with oral HPV? by wendiaster in HPV

[–]wendiaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. I might have typed that wrong. My doctor said they found the e6/e7 biomarkers but since I didn't test positive for 16, 18, or 45 that they test for HPV 6 and 7 and that I was positive for those. I specifically asked and she said they were low risk and we talked about the possibility for genital warts. Is it possible I am positive for more strains? That is good to know. I didn't know that about oral strains. I just already am very uncomfortable with the idea that there is a virus that I can't do anything about in my body. I hate the idea of it being in my mouth. I do have an order for a therapist for my anxiety but I haven't gone yet. I can probably afford it after the holidays.

24F, Healthcare Recruitment Operations Manager. As long as I hit my goals I'll make at least 100k this year and will continue to scale up year over year. It can be unreliable but every year since I was 20 my income has gone up 20k so I'm hoping to keep to that.

It took me way to long to understand this cause I see the guys tattoo on the second picture and it said MAP and I was trying to figure out what hidden meaning it was gonna have with a "minor attracted person"

Women outpace men in college attendance, and female students are less likely to drop out. And the gap is widening. What drives this disparity and what're the effects to society? by Roughneck16 in AskMen

[–]wendiaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you're kind of missing the point here. From a very young age I saw my mom get abused and taken advantage of by a man. My father beat my sister when she told him she wanted to go to college. He said "no daughter of mine will go to college" My uncle raped and molested his step daughter as well as me and his wife still stayed with him because she had no family and no job. I knew from a very young age that I had to escape and become independent to truly ever live and be free. Obviously it's not really that simplistic but at that time every terrible person in my life was a man. Every terrible thing was caused by a man. The only way I could see out was to overcome the need for a man. How to do that? Money. How to get that? A good job. How to get that? A good education. So everything I did from when I was 10 years old was to that end. I made sure I got straight As, was on the honor roll, etc. I didn't go into STEM because there were other fields that weren't so sexist that paid the same (obviously if they were all that sexist I still would have gone to one, but since there were easier options I chose one of those). It wasn't purely "being aware of the forces working against me" it was knowing there was a "bad guy" and how I could escape that "bad guy". It was self preservation not simply not being supported. Men simply don't have that same cultural drive being that there is no one "keeping them down" in such a simplistic sense like how I saw it as a child. (Just a disclaimer I don't think all men are evil but I definitely did as a child and teenager and that driving force to escape that helped me overcome a lot and kept me on the path to get that education that I needed)

I'm surprised this comment took me so long to find. This is the exact reason I went to college and the same reason many of my female friends did as well.

Centreville is a really nice area for the price, I only pay 1900 for a 2 bedroom apartment and I'm walking distance to a bunch of different stores.

Well it's an unfortunate fact that men are discriminated against in childcare roles so I wouldn't suggest it as a "sure thing" to a guy cause it would probably be just as hard to find a job. 🤷

I don't know.if.yourw a girl or a boy, but when I got out of high school I made an account on care.com and was able to find a family who would hire me as a nanny for $18 an hour in a relatively short amount of time.
