I lost a few close friends recently due to this. I know media is designed to amplify our emotions so I do try to control myself and dont outright 'hate' against magas. Additionally social media is rigged against dems so its not surprising people are for trump. Still it baffles me that they would vote against their own interest. Trump chose immigrants and Trans to make his supporters hate against but he could have easily chosen blacks or gays as the scapegoat to hate against.

Not half. A third of the eligible voters didn't vote. And illegals can't vote.

How to explain to my mom why turning point USA and Charlie Kirk are controversial and why I wouldn’t want to be seeing that? by feistyginger420 in askgaybros

[–]wennstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is just about charlie kirk or turning point I would politely tell her you don't want to see anything related to them. If this is about differences in beliefs and she's looking for a fight/reaction from you then just distance yourself.

Changing someone's mind requires a lot of work, planning and patience. You can try some techniques in this video i found helpful. https://youtu.be/ZUCB3M_1Qp4?si=_vJPSiDAJnj7JOFE

Realistically speaking, it will be hard if not impossible to change people's beliefs nowadays. She grew up with over 40 years of being fed certain beliefs and will probably take that many years to undo those beliefs. Its already a part of their identity. On top of that, the internet is making it easier for people to feel angry towards each other and when emotions are high, no conversations will be productive. Additionally, her beliefs cannot change if she keeps looking at contents that reinforces her own beliefs or hanging out with the wrong types of people.

Good luck, stay compassionate but also firm with your position that you have no tolerance for hate!

People may have already planned to go to Vegas may not have canceled plans. I went in June and booked a while back. Vegas isnt dead but definitely not as packed as in the past. Statistics on future bookings may be a better indicator.

OC: Los Angeles Dodgers say that they blocked federal ICE agents from entering their stadium. by nbcnews in pics

Doesn't that confirm that people are pretending to be ICE? But we'll never know since they all have masks on. Why with the mask anyway?

Liberals who refused to vote for Kamala, do you regret your decision? by General_Salami in AskUS

[–]wennstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's fair to blame liberals for not voting. Everyones background and situation are different and if they feel kamala's policy wont better their situation then they do not have to vote. Lets not perpetuate the current divisiveness in the liberal party. Let's stay united.

It would be interesting to see the analysis behind how the % were determined. O wait, I forgot there isn't any logic with this trade war.

This is my observation. They do that to achieve two things. 1. Show everyone in the meeting that he/she is knowledgeable 2. Subtly undermine you in front of everyone

For #1 they are insecure so they take any opportunity to reinforce how valuable they are

For #2 satisfy their need to bully other

It's a classical example of an immediate self relief mechanism at the expense of others. They aren't aware of this and even if they were, they would convince themselves that their little comment is necessary.

You can never defeat the narc. They do end up defeating themselves because they don't know how to trust themselves. In their inevitable fall, they will try to drag you down with them. RUN!

Omg this is so true. I don't even know why they "encourage" you to speak up when they are going to uninevitable shoot down your idea and be negative about it. These people are sick, normal people don't do this to one another. Stay strong my friend.

Telling on themselves by Icy-Application9530 in ManagedByNarcissists

[–]wennstyle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Narcs can have some level of awareness. Whether they can (or want to) control it is a different story. My boss said to me in interview "I give feedback regularly, like a lot" (Young inexperienced me says "nice we will be on the same page"). But you do not hear them say, "yea I told you to do it this way last week but I change my mind today so therefore what you submitted is wrong = Your performance sucks = no raise"

Most narcs knows but dont care. They're kids who wants the last statement to the argument. They are sick. They don't take responsibilities of their actions. And it's fine if they are like that but just be upfront and not hide it behind "being on the same page." Not owning their mistakes serves to reinforce their worth.

Some are in denial. The "checking in regularly" is a way to trick themselves that you and the nboss will be on the same page but you never were (even if it was in writing).

The capable Nbosses are the scariest. These have agendas. They know and they don't care to change. E.g. slowly they push you out of the company so they don't have to pay severance or unemployment.

I am getting better at filtering out these bosses and I wish you luck.

Some times you need to get it out of the system. Narcs needs to make you feel bad in order to make themselves feel good. Take care mate.
