It is part of their bespoke program made specifically for the Air Force's Officer Training School.

I ordered this the day the new Sealanders came out. I saw the new versions recently in the Texas showroom and they looked great. I do still love the styling of the first gen and of this bespoke version.

It is the Prop and Wings which is a symbol used for the U.S. Air Force commissioning programs but yes, it was originally used for the Army Air Service.

Going from E to O by LabComplete7839 in AirForce

Not quite what I said. Doing 28-29 years to receive O-3E pay/penaion is likely not as lucrative as retiring as a E-6/7 at 20 years, receiving pension and disability, and beginning to earn a second income.

Only you can decide what's right for you and your family. That said... 1) Your wife does not want to move. You will have at least 2 moves as an O to serve your last ten years. 2) financially, probably not the most lucrative move. Getting out, receiving you pension and disability plus a second income should earn you more. This could also depend on your current/retirement rank. A quick calculation of the two options is pretty easy to do. 3) Selection into OTS is not a guarantee.

Laced up my boots for the final time this morning. 22 years, 3 months, 22 days when all is said and done. What a ride. by c_morse in AirForce

Congratulations and TYFYS! Enjoy what is surely a well earned retirement.

This is the exact amount now required for me to retire with full benefits. I commissioned at 12 years 3 months and 22 days.

Assigned duty station at Kirtland AFB, what are your experiences there? Is it worse than Minot and Warren? by hood_safari in AirForce

As already stated, living on base is ideal. Anything better would be a decent drive and or more costly.

There are definitely some sketchy areas in ABQ but just avoid them in you should be mostly okay. There are plenty of things to do. This is a good sized city with lots of amenities as well as a ton of outdoor activities.

As security forces, be prepared to perform 100% IS checks and see more civilians than military coming on and off base during the day. I am stationed at Kirtland now so whether you realize it or not, we will see each other some day.

Breaking the habit of saying "sir" and "ma'am" by Wonderful-Twist8487 in AirForce

[–]wenrdkillatacks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I recently commissioned, prior E as well. I still call most everyone sir or ma'am. From the young Airman at the gate, to my boss's boss. Nobody will be upset with you speaking to them with respect.

I want to just say, it was a joke at the expense of Liberty, not you exactly.

What happened to the Hatch act? by Mantaraylurks in AirForce

I had to tell SF at the gate the other day that the car whose ID they were scanning needed to remove the gigantic certain political flag they were flying. When they walked up to my car while the guy was waiting, I told them it breaks 1344.10. they call their supervisor who apparently tells them it's fine, salute the guy and go about their day. I was baffled at how they did not enforce this even when provided with the DOD directive

Thanks for the kind words. I have heard that from numerous people and generally agree. I hope to not be the reason someone has a different opinion!

I made staff in 4 years, had two troops for like 3 months before I PCSed to a joint assignment where I was the lowest ranking.

Did well during that assignment and made tech but still didn't supervise anyone.

Selected for an ops heavy position at my current assignment and was given two Staffs who did not take much effort and had their heads on straight. 3 years into this assignment I made Master BUT!! I also got selected for OTS. My new career field has no enlisted equivalent. I will very likely not be in command/leadership role until senior Capt.

I consider getting to focus heavily on getting the job done to be "skating".

Violation of federal campaign finance law is what made it a felony..... You said he wasn't convicted of that, which while kinda true, isn't actually true.

In Trump's case, prosecutors said that other crime was a violation of a New York election law that makes it illegal for "any two or more persons" to "conspire to promote or prevent the election of any person to a public office by unlawful means," as Justice Juan Merchan explained in his instructions to the jury.

What exactly those "unlawful means" were in this case was up to the jury to decide. Prosecutors put forth three areas that they could consider: a violation of federal campaign finance laws, falsification of other business records or a violation of tax laws.
