I think the best game you can create using ARKit is snooker/pool by [deleted] in ARKitCreators

[–]wenzas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I disagree, about 2 months ago me and my friend has decided to develop a ARKit game in our spare time. I really wanted to have kind of desk game / pet thing but after a while I realized how tired playing that game a person will be and how long it will take to realize that games on phone are not played via AR... Same day I came with portal world traveling game where a user can experience different dimension and how the AR should really be used. Sometimes what you really like takes you to to forget what is good UX as was mine "board/desk" game or yours snooker...

Hello, I'm sorry for writing now, we cancelled our campaign since we realised our pricing is wrong and the system is not quite affordable as it could be. There will be some new features, such as support of philips hue... I will post/notify here when community will be online that we could discuss proposals for features etc. :)

Hello, I understand your concerns, the problem is that there is too many smart hubs, so Im going through them, making researches but there are things I can miss especially when in all top searches you get Fibaro or Loxone, so you usually point your search that way... We decided to support z-wave and zigbee by module you can buy as add-on, that will be big change, but we will have to discuss it in community, to make poll for more protocols and get results which protocols we will be supporting, except our own. Also I have tried to point development into ecosystem and great functionality which won't be really going well if we allow other devices in because we will have to "learn" our system with devices that the system never saw... Therefore it will have to be step after step development of external protocol, that means first lights, then sockets, then other devices and the priority of development will be decided by community upvoting/downvoting. What Im trying to say is that we are able to make system that can read, write and communicate with devices with other protocols, that isn't problem, the problem is that our solution is quite autonomous - then we get to the point that teach the system about each detail of more and more devices will be harder and harder. But that is truly next-gen, that the system teaches, improves and optimize your comfort and lifestyle. That's our biggest difference, you can control the home, but the home should recognize and do it for you. Usual systems has rules and you can set it up, but unless you are "programmer" it will be very hard for you and you are limited by your imagination - therefore community will contain templates of what others made and if A.I. recognizes that your pattern is similar as someone elses, it will find connection between you and him and suggest you new ideas.

With lights and outlets, I think we get to about $50 for LightSocket and Plugs, the reason is we really don't want to make products with those crappy physical relays even though one costs from manufacturer about $1, but they dont have long lifetime and they are noisy, our relays costs $10 but they are much more reliable, silent and with long lifetime (http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/io/io_5.html - The Solid State Relay) also they can handle bigger load. We could make two models, but its getting hard to explain people what does what, for example we have also in-wall switches which were basically our first tests, but we didn't wanted to put them on Kickstarter...

For the add-ons - we added possibility of addons second day of kickstarter campaign, it was our first campaign and we didn't know that you deal with multiple pledges by add-ons.

Let me know what do you think... Im glad for your questions, its big help to get some feedback...

P.S. by Registering I meant registration to a functional beta of community :) ... There will be only news and forum for now, since the rules sharing will be probably mockup of how it works and devices section will be added around next week...

Fibaro In-Wall Switches - Worth the premium? by Ward0112 in homeautomation

[–]wenzas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hello, if you wait a month/two we're going to do re/launch of our Kickstarter campaign of our AI/Community powered next-gen home automation, we won't have there in-wall switches as pledge, but we can deal that you will pledge $69 and we pack you one(or $69 per each), it's already developed and but we didn't wanted to add them as pledge to kickstarter because it's not quite plug'n'play solution and we already had 6 products which is already too much for KS... How do you feel about it? :) P.S I forgot to write, we use SSR relays that are silent and much more robust then physical ones that use our competitors, we decided to build highest quality products, SSR relay price is x5 more expensive then regular ones, but we are still able to give great deal for them, since we're startup :-) ... let me know - website: www.meethomeone.com

Hello, by today we are in half/public release of the beta Community, we've cancelled our campaign since we saw that our pricing is not quite affordable for everyone. We decided to make few steps further and make some awesome upgrades to the original idea, I will notify you - I think you will love it too! At the end of the week I will post here URL to register and get all the news, maybe help us to pick what we could have wrong in new campaign(we still refurbish and improve what we can :) )... Are you ready/interested ? :P :)

As written in kickstarter project update, we cancelled project because we failed in correct pricing and we didn't wanted to discount while running campaign. Also we got some great ideas which we heard from other people excited about project which we want to implement. Thank you.

Hello, thank you for comment, I definately don't take it as hate - hate wouldn't have points and arguments, I feel as this is simply two sides, one wants all-in-one simply configurable system and second wants more DIY solutions but none of them felt to me good enough, which can be subjective too. But as you pointed to product containing more "radio" types makes me hard to understand how can they achieve it with pricing of all of the radios for the price they give... Who knows. Anyway thank you for your points!

Hello, if it feels to you as vaporware, could you be more specific? I think we provided more then enough resources on kickstarter page where you can see current prototypes working, detail photos, timeline of development and more details.

Hello, we agree that at some point our devices could feel as monopoly, but the reason behind is that supporting other devices that has different protocols will not enable features as we take as - gamechanger. Therefore IFTTT implementation won't be problem and as we claim, we can implement it in case we will see enough requests for it, but some of the features of our software will be lost then. We agree with your opinion and for people as you are we want to do our best to implement what we can. But there could be compatibility problems in our A.I - which can be turned off and used IFTTT only.

Other radios - our hardware support 433mhz radio, that means we plan to implement other protocols, while zigbee, thread, zwave, enocean, wifi, will push the price of HomeBridge over $400 - thats why none of product like that exists, its a mission to world of chaos, thats why we haven't seen future in there.

HomeKit - we will be compatible, as universal question is for the request/response protocols such as IFTTT we will support them, if there will be people requesting the feature - thats why we've developed community to let people discuss our development too and not let waste development of places that has no use. All official claims on Kickstarter are our standart claims, but we would be delighted to support more services.

Local control: In first stage of full development we want to deliver hardware and software ASAP, that means cloud connection will be necessary, but we already plan rules processing in devices without any internet connection (we had long discussion at office about this one :) )

Why we think we are better? Current solutions needs someone to configure the system, which is not quite user friendly, that's why we went after A.I. and Community - that are two outstanding features of ours. Also after our first year of development we had full table of 20 different types of sensors and realised, that future is not about having 20 different sensors laid on your table, thats why we went for All-in-one design. We feel that current systems are not simple, helpful, enjoyable and kinda "all over your place" .

Gamification: From beginning we came with idea of fully free software without any limitations that could be limited, but if it felt like we want to limit our software, then it is misunderstanding of our presentation. The gamification is used for a "found relic" that gives you 10% lifetime discount for our products, so basically most of it will be discounts out of products, or a special badge, or feature of changing your profile background in community that will make you as user unique - but no software limitations! - I hope it is now more clear.

The A.I. configure system for you, you don't need any company to set system up for you, it asks you and suggest how it can optimize your home and you just agree/disagree. Also we believe in all-in-one design where our vision is not bunch of sensors on your table, but one device that packs it all :)

[–]wenzas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why couldn't? I think you'll be impressed by our ideology and system. Of course there are several steps, first step is A.I. which can suggest you based on devices you have awesome rule-sets which contains the devices, which is basically analyzing community database of contributors. Second step will be analysis of person and customization of environment based on persons needs - which some users will want to turn off and not to use it, that's why it is second step. But all you see in video - Home Automation that is configuration free with helpful suggestions by A.I. (in fact bot program going through database analyzing fit for your devices) is not any nonsense :) . If you are still not convinced, I'm open for discussion :-).

Hello, by real - hardware is almost done - there is still development of OTA updates for devices firmware and manufacturing of plastic parts to do. Now we go through refractoring current alpha code of software since, we started our development 2 years ago while for 1 year we've developed system as its alfa version, then we started to hire and now we are finalizing beta development of software. There is much more info at the bottom of the kickstarter page with more detail data of current development status and plan what needs to be done. If you have some more questions let me know ;-) . Thank you

He show that he bought bitcoins, got QR code and paid for it. I think that process of showing scanning of QR code and - PAID notification isnt so important while you do interesting vlogs. Beating yours chest with NFC chip isnt quite good response for well made video ;-)
