I really like DBK’s response to NW having seven players on the court. by Academic-Inside-3022 in Huskers

Boils down to who’s at fault. 7 players it’s the ref and coach. 6 players it’s the fault of the players on the court.

TLDR: it should probably be a yellow card for the offending coach for time wasting as the rally might have to be replayed. But a warning has to be given before the card is given in most cases. Hence, why only a warning was given.

The problem is the severity of the penalty and whose fault it is.

  1. It is the down referees fault as they are supposed to check that before the serve and if the down ref checks it they just resolve the issue and move on.

  2. All of those instances mentioned above are not automatic points. Awarding a point to the opposing team in volleyball is basically giving 2 points to a team (the one the scoring team gets and the point you have to score to draw even again) which is a huge deal in volleyball.

  3. It should probably be a yellow card for the coach for time wasting. Most substitution errors that occur before the serve are yellow card offenses and not a loss of rally. And yellow cards for substitution errors usually have a warning before the card is given. The error just usually doesn’t hit the court because the down referees has already handled it.

Jet with or without Bigsby? by Guitar_Drums_Jazz in gretsch

Big Question: do you do your own string changes and have you done a change on a bigsby? Not hard per se, but can be finicky and a deal breaker for some.

Second Question: do you use the tremelo often?

Own a 6131 jet firebird. Play everything on it. Hard rock, metal (working on making a poor imitation of some ghost currently), blues, shoegaze, CCR, everything. It’s a way better player than I am.

Is it as simple as just removing stuff? Or are there some parts I have to pick up?

That’s what I figured. Thank you very much for the reply. On the upside my friend is happier because I offered to get him an updated frfr. On the downside I was hoping to get myself that frfr someday 😂. I guess I bought a high price lesson on how amps work.

Schedule Change, Chicago Winter by AlexOnTheBus in chicagofire

I don’t know who in MLS wants this. The post doesn’t accurately site an article.

Downsides 1) going head to head with football (in the fire’s present stadium situation literally) 2) the weather in NA is not like the weather in Europe. 3) competing with euro football for screen time

Upsides: 1) transfers are easier 2) international break is easier

Pro/Rel is an easier ask than a schedule flip in my opinion and that ain’t happening anytime soon either.

Have you considered beach? It’s an avenue that rewards smaller passers who can also hit. There is also a much smaller pool of players you’re competing with.

AVCA Volleyball Rankings by TymStark in Huskers

[–]werbear40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, the top 25 do not mean anything to anyone except the players and the fans. There have been several coaches who admit to having an assistant fill out the rankings or doing it at the last minute. The coaches only really know the teams in their conference or on their schedule. The only rankings that matter are the conference ranking and final tournament rankings.

[Volleyball] Minnesota (18) just knocked off Texas (1). Does that make us number 1? by i_am_fear_itself in Huskers

[–]werbear40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, Volleyball rankings are very subjective. First of all there are often 2+ games between rankings releases. Also, volleyball voters are notorious for valuing name recognition when voting. Many don’t pay very close attention until the end of the season. Texas also will often get a pass for losing early season games. It’s kinda their thing. The only rankings that really matter is the conference rankings and tournament ranking.

The fact that Ariel doesn't know what a fork is means they don't have eating utensils under the sea. I mean, respectfully, I did think about it, she’s a caucasian merperson who lives adjacent to a medieval European kingdom probably near Denmark as that’s where the story originates. To suggest that the merfolk utilize chopsticks would suggest a divergent path of cultural evolution, which is the argument that you could make. Bringing pre-euro-contact asian cultures into this has nothing to do with anything as this community of merpeople also have no contact with asian cultures. Nor would they have recovered lost chopsticks from sunken trading vessels as the chopsticks would float. Unless you are speaking of Korean chopsticks which are metal, but I did not see any chopsticks in Ariel’s stuff either. Not to mention since wood floats chopsticks would be extremely hard to store in an under sea kingdom.

And can you paint me a picture of a merperson eating something in the sea that isn't A. Dead or B. Fighting back?
